1999 S10 Gas gauge bounces from empty to full, nothing between

This problem is caused by the fuel level sensor inside the gas tank, you will need to drop the fuel tank out or remove the pickup bed to access the level sensor which is part of the fuel pump module on most GM products. The part is about $200.00 and 3 hours to install. See picture below. You can buy the part at a very good price from the on line company I use for parts

Where is the fuel tank pressure senser located on a 1999 chevrolet S10 pickup

Fuel tank pressure sensor is located on the sending unit. The fuel tank may need to be lowered a bit to gain access to it.

I have a 93 Toyota Pickup that has a gas leak near the tank. Cant see where but fuel lines run to the tank and itt is in that area.

I've never had a problem with a sly leak-Usually I lose my gas tank driving over rocks, and you can see the remnants, or it's a cab-mount (No smoking, please!), but here's my advice: No matches! Take some water, add food colouring, and dump it on the tank. That way, the gas will push the water aside so you can see where it goes/comes from. My guess is right at the side facing front, or right up top, at the fuel vent or pickup line. Also check to make sure the fuel level sensor is tight, as is the fuel line entrance.

I have a 99 s10 but the fuel gauge goes to full to empty when i hit a bump or shift gears....what can i do to fix it?

Nine times out of ten it's a bad sender unit in the fuel tank. GM is having problems with them. So much so that they now sell just the level sensor and float separately. You used to have to replace the complete tank unit for $500.00! The level sensor is less than $100.00.

Fuel gauge on empty all the time. 101k in 1997 s10. Gas gauge stays on empty all the time.

Check all your fuses first, both in the car and under the hood. then look for broken wires around the tank. If all that checks out, you may need a sending unit, (in the tank)

97 s10 fule pump stop workin

The fuel system before the fuel pump should be checked to verify that there is no clogging of fue lines. There might be a possibility that the fuel tank could have corroded deposits, so when the fuel pump sucks fuel from the tank, these debris are collected into the fuel system which can cause blockages, so in reality the pump itself mite not be the problem. Also is there anyway that you can verify that the fuel pressure is of desired value (psi)?
