Question about 1995 Ford Probe

1 Answer

I have a 95 ford probe 5pd 4cyl and sometimes it acts up. When its running no matter if the ac, the heat or nothing is turned on in that sense it will start idling real rough and eventually die... But it always starts back up, just have to manually keep it at idle or else it will go all the way back down on its own to 200rpm and stay there and somtimes die. Any sensor or computer **** I could look at? Dobbs did a diagnostic about a month ago when this was happening and said everything came back as normal because I thought it might of been the alternator going out but that wasn't it. Spark plugs and wires are about 1year old as well. ANy thoughts would be greatly appreciated on what I can look at.

My 95 probe got hot and now wont start has spark and turns over is there a high heat relay some where how do i get it to start

If you have spark, check for fuel. If you turn the car to "on" without starting it, you should hear the fuel injector pump at least breifly.

With heat turned off engine runs ok with heat turned on engine rpms are erratic

If defrost is on that means AC cycles to remove humidity. Does this also occur when ac is running set at very near outside temp so it cycles? Could be the throttle positioning sensor (TPS) acting up.

I need to know if a distibuter from a 95 ford probe 4cyl will fit on a 95 probe v6

no it is incompatible and it would only have four wires when you'll need six.

1989 4 Cyl will run until hot, then stalls

could possibly be camshaft position sensor or crank shaft sensor have you had a diagnostic scan

sometimes my 1996 ford probe has problems starting - have to try several times and most times it just starts without problems. it doesn't matter whether it has been driven or just sits for days. i've had starter and starter solonoid replaced. battery is fine. it runs perfect though.
