Accelerate, go to shift, will not accelerate, engine still is running. Thought is might be a sensor, oil or air or gas. They say it's a full gas pedal assemble which seems extreme. Don't really know how this assemble works.

It's a electrical switch under your gas pedal.

Sounds like either a fuel pump or throttle position sensor. Check the pressure at the port on the fuel rail. It should be at least 30 PSI while running. TPS is mounted right on the throttle body. Amazon sells them both.

Sounds like a malfunctioning egr system. Too much egr gasses at once will lean out the air fuel mixture and cause hesitation in an engine. Just my 2 cents.

i had that problem on a 93 escort and it was because the woodruff key that holds the harmonic balancer in place was broken, the poopy acceleration was because the crank sensor gets its "signal" from cogs on the harmonic balancer, which did not turn at the same speed as the crank shaft because of the drag on the crank pully (crank pully and harmonic balancer are same part)

PICKUP DOWN SHIFTS WHEN ACCELERATED

Attach a diagnostic computer to the leads on your engine.
Check the codes to confirm that the onboard computer is choosing to shift under the correct conditions.

Or, get your local Dodge dealer (before they go bankrupt) to run the computer-diagnosis.

When I accelerate I lose power and the truck turns off

your vehicle is supposed to charge at a rate of 14.4 volts. your volts should never be below 13 while running otherwise alternator is probably bad. If the fuel filter has never been changed it too can cause vehicle struggle to accelerate go dead easily because it is struggling to get gas. I had a 99 tahoe that wouldnt shift out of first when fully accelerating until I let off gas. thought at first trans problems but an eight dollar filter fixed it. just remember that your volts should never go below 12 volts when off, especially when running because it takes 12 v to keep engine computer and all electrical on.

Rear acceleration noise

Try rear wheel bearings. The cause a roaring noise that increases with acceleration. Sounds very similar to loud road noise.
