97 nissan pathfiner 3.3l idles too high

I don't think I can adjust my idle on this car and I'm pretty sure there are no vacuum leaks. What to do, car hits 20 mph by itself and I'm wearing out my brakes. Could it be the Idle control valve or a Mass air flow sensor problem. Help!!!

Sometimes there is a secondary relay on the fender or firewall if there is that needs to be checked to see if it is getting the proper currentif so it more than likely is your sensor

It has been my experience that this problem is usually caused by a dirty or bad Idle Air Control Valve (IACV). I would try removing the IACV and cleaning it thoroughly, as well as the air passages in the intake manifold.
You can check the valve itself. Check the resistance between the two terminals with an ohmmeter. The resistance should be approximately 10 ohms at 77°F. Also make sure the plunger moves in and out without sticking or binding and the spring is not broken.

OK now the bad news, the (IACV) is at the back of the engine and up against the fire wall. Lots of bad words will be used to replacing this and i think the dealer charges $550.00 in labour alone.
You can try running Sea Foam through the manifold, just follow the instructions and there will be lots of smoke, Do a search on You Tube for Sea Foam. You can try blasting it with throttle body cleaner though a vacuum tube and down the throttle body, may have to use three cans, just follow the instruction again.
Good luck and keep me posted.

My 97 GSXR 600 idles high then slowly idles down

make sure the throttle cable is free moving and not sticking or slow to return. it could be a vacuum leak. you can check for a leak by spraying water around any intake seals in the carb area or brake fluid, if the idle changes then you found the area of the leak.

Idles too high/turn signal don't shut off

It sounds like there is a vacuum hose leak or break and is causing a lean condition in the engine. it can make it idle fast. I dont think the signal problem is related.

The fuel pressure regulator is on the fuel rail..But it sounds like to me like a stuck idle air control or a vacuum leak..Look carefully at all the vacuum lines and make sure they are not broke or crimped..If it stuck idling high you can tap on the valve and the idle will come down

Fix the idle its to high

High idle in most cases is caused by a vacuum leak. Inspect the vacuum hoses and check the intake manifold gaskets as well as the throttle body boot for cracks or tares or loos connections on all areas previously mentioned. The idle is not adjustable and is factory set.
