Problem for Chevrolet 1997 Cavalier

1997 Chevy Cavalier Convertible top not working

The roof on my 1997 Cavalier will not open or close. When I activate the switch you can hear the motor running but it does not have enough umph to raise or lower withour assistance. Is there any solution other than relpacing the motors? Can fluid be added? If not, does anyone have any sugestions on how to get to the roof motors to replace them?

Roof motor is behind the rear seat in the trunk under a rear panel.
