Question about 1999 Honda Odyssey

1 Answer

Car stops then will crank and run ok until it happens again. No certain type of driving or weather conditions seem to effect it , although it did start this summer.

Car stops when driving. After pulling over, putting it in park it cranks and runs fine until it happens again. It has happened as ofter as 3 times in one day or as infrequently as once every couple of weeks.

Those are Oxygen Sensor Codes, you can google
& look up

They need to be replaced every 100,000 miles, but won't
cause a no start condition or be effected by outside temp

Spark Plugs -- have to be replaced every 3 years, can't just
drive until you have a problem

Sounds like lack of Preventative Maintenance to me

Too many items to check or test ,to go into here

Tell fuel pump bad

Recharge the battery . Check condition and tension of the drive belt. What has happened is that you were running on battery alone and it ran so low you had insufficient power to run the electronics of the engine because you alternator was not charging.

Sounds like you need a fuel pump. There is an access panel in the floor of the car to get to the pump.

1999 Honda Odyssey engine stops when driving.

Replace the ignition switch. Honda had a recall on this, but my experience is that the new ones will fail too with age.

Engine won't start on Jaguar XJ8 Vandenplas TRAC NOT AVAILABLE

hey blackdiam522,
First did you have a check engine light, and do you know what the code was if you did?

Ok, the traction control not available isnt goin to affect the car from starting.During my year of a jaguar tech the most common for a crank, no start is a flooded engine. Now the two most causes for a flooded engine on these jags are 1. the weather is just super cold and all the own does is keep cranking the car to try to get to start. 2. A lot of short trip, a lot of city driving, 15 mins or less.

When you get something like this, a no start crank, you have to pump the gas pedal really fast, like your starting an oil muscle car. this forces more air into the engine.

when this no start happend u could get all these codes, what i maybe would recommend is a tune up, and some highway driving every once and a while to kept this from happening again, hopefully this helps, thanks.

2003 toyota avensis diesal . dificult starting from initial start

I am assuming this a cold weather only issue ?? Turn your key to on before cranking it over for about 5 sec to let the glow plug heat up a moment. Not allowing the glow plug to warm will wear out your starter.

Starting - no crank - battery is fine. Jaguar tested coils and starter motor - all ok. spark plugs new. Seems to be effected by cold or damp weather.

Try a different key, the chip in the key is probably bad creating the vehicle not to crank as the exciter ring cannot pick up a signal from the master key.
