Question about 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier

2004 chevy cavalier headlight problem

I have replaced the bulb on the passenger side and it just barely glows. When I turn on the brights it stays the same and the service light comes on and the bright light signal stays on. I was told that it might be a grounding problem. The drivers side works fine. Any suggestions?

Ain't no "might be", I believe the person who told you it was a ground issue is probably shaking his head over the fact that you have not acted on this. Take apart the sockets that plug the wiring harness off that way and make sure they have no excessive corrosion, not forgetting to check the condition of the headlight plug-in. Any ground strap you see along that harness needs to be removed, cleaned and fastened securely with a shot of anticorrosion gunk (your choice, I don't think it matters one damn bit what kind you use since it all should work). Get to work! Enjoy yourself and figure about an hour (+-) for the job.

If the good bulb worked on both sides and the bad bulb did not work on either side [I think this what you said] then the bulb is burnt out.
Just to be sure see if the supposed defective bulb works on High beam.

Check the ground wire from the light socket. It should be black and trace back to the body or frame. Make sure it didn't get damaged and is making good contact to the car. You want shiny bare metal to metal. Hope this helps.

I have a 2003 chevy cavalier. headlight issue

The blinking light is telling you that you have a headlight out, if you look the service light should be coming on when the light stops blinking.
Replace the head light and all should be fine.

2003 chevy cavalier-headlight only operates on low beam? Is not as bright as the other one

You need to replace the bulb, the bulb has both high and low beam filaments contained inside and so only one or the other filament (low or high) will work at any given time, replace the halogen bulb, locate the back of the headlight housing and grasp the plug that enters it and turn it counter clockwise and then pull it out and disconnect plug by gently prying the tab out at the same time as you pull the plug off the bulb.

Well usually it's due to a missing or damaged grommet at the fire wall. There's a number of other ways to have a short like that too.

Right side will not work light glow only

If you have a service vehicle soon light (not service engine soon) this usually indicates a problem with the foreward lamp system.Your problem seems confusing, but check your high beam lamp operation. These cars are NOTORIOUS for corroded harnesses to the headlights. The problem is usually buried behind the washer bottle or across the radiator area. If you are lucky, it may be a burned out high beam bulb. If the blue symbol for brights stays on and there is no click when pulling on high beam lever, you will need a new turn signal switch.
