Question about 2000 Ford F250 Super Duty Crew Cabs

A/c inop when not under a load

I have a 99 f-250 with 7.3 diesel. The a/c stops blowing cold when the engine is not under a load. as soon as you put it under a load again the a/c works great..??? Any ideas?

Does it have a mechanical fan on water pump? do you work construction or dirty places. it could have a huge build up of dirt between rad and condensor. take off grill and use power washer to spra fins on condenser.

Twin turbo 80 horse power deutz Diesel engine blows black smoke under load


Diesel engines smoke when under a heavy load. Unlike a gas engines, a diesel engine uses fuel that is more like an oil.Smoking is a good indication the fuel is not completly burning because of loaded engine spee. White smoke indicates the fuel is not ignitingefficiently. Truck, boats, tanks abd anything else using diesel fuel will smoke when it gets more fuel than it can use.. Easing up on the throttle will lessen the smoke but not eliminate.. Of coarse if the demand is lessened by applying less loadyhe fuel consumption drops.Not to worry as long as the smoke doesn't attract the EPA.

Ford e 350 runs rough blows black smoke until you restart it


the truck is either an e350 0r f250 right? now which?
Gas powered rigs ? call the dealer to inquire about outstanding recalls. inspect your fuel pressure regulator for the correct number
F4TZ or newer should be seen. check the oil dipstick for a fuel smell. if the spark plugs show excessive fuel or carbon. change the oil first, and the filter. then use an update regulator, and tune up.
diesel rigs? theres a possibility of fuel injector pump and or injector problems. first determine the glow plug system is right. see a diesel tech about what diesel fuel system yours is equipped with, do the required maintenance, and with good parts does it smoke cold only, warm only or both. then you can begin to get answers. several systems were used and engine displacement must be known to look it up. a faulty glow plug controller or inoperative glow plugs can contribute to cold smoke, a faulty injector pump or leaky injectors can cause warm smoke. some diesels have the newer system and there are a series of updates you must have. parts are very expensive so do your homework first. build date, engine size, injector type, outstanding recalls, tsb's tech service messages. these can all be found at the ford dealer. they will be happy to answer your questions.

1981 mitsubishi sigma won't turn off


It was a very common problem on carbureted cars, so common it was given a name: dieseling. You know, as how a diesel engine will run without spark plugs. You shut a hot engine off, there is still a little gas in the intake, and maybe the carburetor still drips a few drops down the throat. The crankshaft is still turning, so gas still gets into the hot combustion chambers, so hot it can still ignite the remaining gas, and you have "dieseling".
To rectify it, manufacturers years ago began putting an electrical solenoid in the carb's main fuel passage to stop fuel flow as soon as engine is shut off. They called this a fuel cut solenoid, fuel shut off solenoid, idle stop solenoid, or an anti-dieseling solenoid. I know datsuns had this solenoid at least as far back as the early '70's. Works very simply: turn the key on and solenoid was energized, retracting a plunger pin in the fuel passage. Turn key off and solenoid gets no power, so a spring inside the solenoid pushed the plunger back into the fuel passage. It almost entirely eliminated the problem, as long as the carburetor was adjusted correctly.
Actually, I think your '81 should or might have this fuel cut solenoid on the carburetor, and if so it may be inoperative and needs replacing. Not very expensive, and easy to replace- just screws out. Some had only a single wire connector, and some had two wires to them. It would probably be the only electrical to the carb, other than any electrical going to an electric choke, if so equipped.

Hello i have a 1994 gmc 6,5 diesel turbo and under load is overheating i replace fan clutch, thermostat and when remove the water pump the driver side of the block was dry any idea


Sounds like it might be blowing gases into the water jacket. Blown head gasket?
I would fill system up, start engine with rad cap closed. Rev up COLD engine and then check the upper rad hose for pressure. Squeeze it. If it seems to have pressure already, its likely head gasket. Put a towel over rad cap and take it off slowly, listen for pressure release while still cold engine. (Bad sign) Then wait for it to warm up and themostat to open, rev the engine and look for bubbles in the flow of coolant which burst with a little puff of steam or smoke. If neither of these happens, that is a good sign of not being head gasket. But it may be occuring only at high pressure, "under load". Dont know how much load that means..

Hi.. 2002 vw golf 1.9 l diesel airconditioning stopped working its fully charged i had the battery and tray out and cleaned all grounds under the battery tray put it all back together and the ac worked...


Check the coolant sensors. One sensor, when coolant is overheated, cuts the ac off, this sensor may be stuck electrically open, only two wires going to it. Other sensor has four wires, two for temp gage and two for engine management.

2001 vw golf gt tdi is struggling to start when cold and sometimes hot..when started it struggles 2 stay ticking over at 900 revs...what can i do??please help


golfs coldstart system works when you open door/shut door/put key in hole and turn on (in that order)if you delay puting belt on for longer than say 30 secs the coils go cold,hence poor starting.if engine labours after cold start try using (really)one gallon of petrol in tank to clean injectors.
british army put petrol (30%)in diesel tanks of challenger tanks in arctic
to stop fuel freezing.....most parts replacement jockeys in garages will say if you put diesel in tank it will have to flushed out.lot of bollocks.
trust me.have put petrol in by mistake loads of times,only get hot start
problems if you put in too much.

Need to change glow plugs on a mercedes C220D 1998


dont bother too much with thebullshit recipe .mercedesbenz were built in a cold country and have the cold start tecnique off pat .you need to establish if all the glow plugs are working .,if the engine misses and runs rough when it does start then the glow plugs are not all working but you need to test them with a test light and i would be inclined to think you will need to replace them. do them all as the ones that do work will stop soon.they all seem to go around the same time------------"youdoit "

Heater blows cold air


the heator core has gone out this is a divise that uses hot coolent from the engine to heat the air that blowes tru your vents it is located behind the glove box some times it's tricky to reach look under the hood to find 2 hoses running side by side in to the fire wall on the passenger side to pin point the location
