Question about 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Knob on air conditioner not working right and cruise control stopped working at same time

I have a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Last week I noticed the air only comes out on the dash (defrost) no matter where the knob is positioned- it blows out the top of the dash on the windshield. Also, the cruise control has stopped working. Could this be a fuse that needs replaced?

It is a vacuum leak under the hood. If it is a six cylinder, look on the driver side of the intake manifold for a L shaped fitting that usually pops off. If it is a V8 the leak may be near the battery.

Sounds like an electrical problem; look for loose, corroded or kinked/broken wires. The problem is most likely in the dash wiring/connections and seems to be pretty common in jeeps.

Same exact problem.

Could be the plunger motor/ vaccum plunger under the hood. If the cruise light is on, the computer thinks it is working.

It could be a poor seal but I've never seen it. What you could have is a fresh air door not closing properly. Fresh air door/recirculation same thing.
