Question about 2007 Nissan Murano SE
My 2009 Nissan Murano's chrome center console was scrathed by what looks like a brillo pad during an interior detail job. Now the business is willing to replace the entire console. I'm afraid the car will never be the same if its replaced. How much is this part? Should I just ask to split the part cost and try to polish it myself?
I would not recommend trying to polish it. It is "chrome plated" plastic. There is a very thin delicate layer of this chroming on the plastic part. Even gentle polishing, which wouldn't remove all of the scratches, could possibly remove the chrome down to the plastic. I would hold them to the coals and make them buy a new piece. If you are worried about the detailers installing it correctly, insist they pay the dealer to install it.
