Tranny serviced complete @ 125,772 mi. on 24 JUN 08. Mileage now128,900. At low speed the car
feels like the e. brake is on or dragging; but it is not.

  • rocr921 May 26, 2009

P.S. Fluid level is fine and not discolored at all.

  • rocr921 May 26, 2009

I think you may be right. By the way the P.S. wasn't refering to the Power Steering, it was a Post
Script to give you more info. Thanks. rocr921

Have you serviced the trans at the 60,000 mile recommended interval? that is a fluid and filter change, sounds like you may have a fluid pressure issue possibly due to a clogged trans filter.

what would the power steering fluid have to do with this, did i miss something? sounds like the forward clutch pack in the trans is failing or the front pump is worn and u have low fluid hydraulic pressure, have the trans pressure tested to confirm this. but i think the trans is on it's way out in any case.

Yes figured that out about the PS right away but already replied, well the fact the fluid is clean likely confirms the trans is going to need an overhaul, it is tired, just worn out parts. been doing this for 40 years now and pretty darn sure of this diagnosis.

What color was the fluid before you changed it and was there any metal in the pan, did you have the cooloer lines flushed when you serviced tranny. sounds like something in the valve body is the issue.

2006 gmc envoy Denali 4wd will not engage

This vehicle had option of three different transfer case ! Which one of these is the one in your vehicle ?
Transfer Case - NVG 120-NR9 Transfer Case - NVG 126-NP4 Transfer Case - NVG 226-NP8
The New Venture Gear model NVG 226 RPO NP8 transfer case is a two speed automatic, active, transfer case. The NVG 226 provides five modes, Auto 4WD, 4 HI, 4 LO, 2 HI and Neutral. The Auto 4WD position allows the capability of an active transfer case, which provides the benefits of on-demand torque biasing wet clutch and easy vehicle tuning through software calibrations. The software calibrations allow more features such as flexible adapt ready position and clutch preload torque levels. The technology allows for vehicle speed dependent clutch torque levels to enhance the performance of the system. For example, the system is calibrated to provide 0-5 lb ft of clutch torque during low speed, low engine torque operation, and predetermined higher torque for 32 km/h (20 mph) and greater. This prevents crow-hop and binding at low speeds and provides higher torque biases at higher vehicle speeds, to enhance stability.
The New Venture Gear model NVG 126 RPO NP4 transfer case is a one speed automatic, active, transfer case. The NVG 126 provides only one mode, Auto 4WD, and is transparent to the operator. The active transfer case provides the benefits of on-demand torque biasing, wet clutch and easy vehicle tuning through software calibrations. The software calibrations allow more features, such as flexible adapt ready position and clutch pre-load torque levels. The technology allows for vehicle speed dependent clutch torque levels to enhance the performance of the system. For example, the system is calibrated to provide 0-7 N?·m (0-62 lb in) of clutch torque during low speed, low engine torque operation, and predetermined higher torque for 32 km/h (20 mph) and greater. This prevents crow-hop and binding at low speeds, and provides higher torque biases at higher vehicle speeds, to enhance stability
The New Venture Gear (NVG) model NV120, RPO NR9 transfer case is a single speed, full-time, all wheel drive (AWD), transfer case that incorporates a front/rear drive differential carrier assembly.

My 1995 Toyota Corrolla spedomter only works at highway speeds (50 MPH). The needle stays at 0 MPH below 45 MPH. I had my mechanic check the speed sensor and that is fine. Any idea what is causing it to...

The speedo is of course electronic, it either has a defective circuit board or the tiny motor that moves the needle is defective. You will need to remove the cluster from the car and send it out to a factory repair center.

Check engine code p0700

this code is a transmission code and has a few different tranny sensors that is reads. you could just be low on tranny fluid or is could be the tranny axle speed sensor. odds are if its running fine now it is just low fluid but you could look into the sensor after that. the sensor is what tells the truck when to shift so thats could be why it went up in rpms if the sensor went out bacause then it would know exactly how to shift.
