My keys and fob were stolen,I bought two new key's,then took it to a ford dealer, they had me bring the car to them,I gave them a plain key for cutting the new ones. Now they say starter doesn't turn.

Your Ford dealer sounds just like our local Ford dealer...

They probably just cut plain none-transponder keys or didn't follow the key programming instructions properly.

Perhaps the keys and security system need reprogramming together.

Whatever the reason it is quite unacceptable to take a Ford car to a Ford dealer and be told they don't know how to fix it.
I strongly suggest you take someone there gently by the throat and question the parentage while threatening to contact Ford customer service.

A local auto locksmith might be able to further advise you.

Frankly, I can't see the logic in that. Replace a motor that runs with a new motor. Won't the new motor do the same thing? I would want to speak to a dealer technician or mechanic. Or somebody who has done extensive work and knows your model. Big chunk of money, modern cars are getting way too expensive.

All I can say is do some research online find a REPUTABLE shop and let them drive it until it dies. Three things are needed for an engine to run: spark, fuel, compression. I doubt it is a compression problem being that it is a new engine. Something is causing either spark or fuel to drop out, a good mechanic should be able to quickly identify what is missing from the equation. Find a shop with a lab scope that can test sensors that send signals to the engine computer. It could be as simple as a fuel pump getting hot and quitting. Good Luck!

If the belt slipped and a valve is bent you may also have a hole in a piston which the valve hit. My best advise would be to pull the heads to be certain this is the problem and if it is then the mechanic was correct, you can either have the engine rebuilt or purchase a used engine from a salvage yard and swap it out.

Why is my 96 crown vic shifting hard after take off.

HI. I will list the all areas of concern below:

1. Dirty or clogged transmission filter
2. Low transmission fluid level
3. Faulty solenoid shift pack(Located in the valve body of the transmission)
4. Contaminated transmission fluid reserve.

I would advise to inspect the following areas above, asap. You can start be simply having your transmission flushed and refilled with fresh fluid and a new filter. In most cases, that will correct the hard shifting. If it doesn't; have the transmission solenoid pack inspected by a competent ford tech or a local competent independent mechanic.

Try to locate the break centering switch. Should be able to follow lines to it. Look under reservoir then just follow lines until you find a small black box with wires coming out of it. Your mechanic should have reset this when he replaced pads...but does not make him bad because he didn't. Sometimes the it requires cleaning also; :)

Let me get this straight, you took your Nissan to the NISSAN dealer (who has extensive data and resources) and they said you needed an engine due to the timing had jumped and you declined due to the $6500.00 price. So you took it to the independent guy (local mechanic) that is guessing and throwing parts at it and most likely making it worse because you only needed an ECM that the dealer said was ok, 2 cam sensors and 3 coils (but hey its cheaper than an engine). So now you have a used ECM that doesn't belong in the vehicle that you most likely didn't need and are awaiting the correct one from Nissan. You now have or will have 3 working ECMs, 4 good cam sensors and nine good coils in a van that will still not run. Ok and now you think that the independent guy (local mechanic) doesn't know what he's doing and you want to know if anybody knows a good mechanic. Whatever gave you that impression?? I know now what the problem's you. You tried to save money but it didn't work. Hopefully you didn't do any further damage but who knows. Get your money back from the local mechanic and take your van to the dealer to get the engine you need before someone else takes you for a ride or damages your vehicle further.
