Question about 2004 Ford F150

Ford F150 back-up sensor issue

Good day my Ford guru's, I have a fully loaded 2004 ~ F150 SuperCrew that has an issue at the moment. The back-up sensors stopped working this winter, thinking they were just frozen - I let it be, but since spring is here and they never started working, maybe there is something that I can do to fix it. I would like them to work again; as they are a great asset on these big trucks. What can I do to test and fix these sensors? I was told to check to see if there is power getting to the sensors, after taking off the sensor and testing... with the truck running and someone holding the brake in reverse, I cannot find any power... there are 3 prongs in the wire. Labeled 1,2,3 and was using a Fluke Voltage meter. Are there any other places that you can buy these sensors if it is the issue, that will not cost an arm and a leg? Thank you for your help.

Hello friend!

being you have all these fancy tools////put them aside...diagnosis is simple....using a mechanics stethoscope...put vehicle into reverse (key on of course) hold stethosope up to each senor on truck..you will hear a faint ticking sound from them...replace the sensor(s) that is the faintest...its that simple

have fun with the big trucks...i'll stick to the little ones!

I need to know which wire on the 4 wire oxygen sensor (2 white, one grey one black) is the heat wire on a ford f-150 o2 sensor?

Hello! There are four O2's...Each O2 heater, left and right bank, front and rear, has it's own wire colors...These colors are "at the connector"...First series are the control ground sent by the PCM..
RR=White/Black...RF=Red/White...LR=Tan/Yellow...And LF=Yellow/Light Blue...........This series are the battery leads, hot when fuel pump relay pulls...RR=Violet/White...
RF=Red/Yellow...LR=Violet/White...LF=Red/Yellow...

I've got a 2003 F150 that was wrecked. Airbags deployed haven't been replaced. But the front seatbelts, both driver and passenger, are fully uncoiled and won't retract. I'm wondering if I can replaced them...

The airbags and sensors don't necessarily have to be replaced other than for obvious safety reasons. However, the light on your dash indicating a problem with your air bags will likely remain lit.

IAT sensor plug 2004 Ford F150...is it located seperately or is it integrated in the MAF plug? I see a separate set of two wires but I don't know? It's the standard 5.4 L V8 on my supercrew Lariat.

The MAFS and IAT are in a single connector on the 04-08 MY F-150s.
This is for a new body style 2004, not the Heritage / Lightning models.

The IAT sensor is the Gray w/ Red stripe & Gray wire pairs in the connector. The connector is a 6 pin ( 1 row of 6 pins ) black connector.

2002 Ford F150 Supercrew - Electrical problem! Help!

dk mak r

As a retired electrical engineer this intrigues me. If you were my neighbor I would put an ammeter in series with the batteery lead to see just how much current is being drawn by the "mystery" load.

When you disconnect or hook up the battery can you see any sparks when the cable touches the battery terminal?

If the battery can get run down over night that is a significant drain.

If there is some sign of spark when you connect/disconnect the battery lead try the following.
Selectively remove a fuse in the fuse panel, (starting with the larger fuses, 15A, 20A) and then connect the battery terminal and see if you still have a spark.

Hope this helps Good luck Loringh

have you replace the crank sensor? or cranshaft sensor?
if not do it, but before you do that make sure to have the truck inspect for a posible aftermarket alarm installed if it does have it remove and drive it for a few days,
and please after trying leave ranking or feedback for me, thanx and good luck
