Question about 1999 Chevrolet Blazer
When starting it sounds like when you accidentally turn the key when it is already on and sometimes ticks. The more i turn off and turn on in one day it gets worse. when it sits for a day or a few hours it doesn't do it. happened after i got my oil changed. i also have a remote starter that works on and off but hasn't been used in over 2 years.
can anyone help!
It sounds like it's time for a rebuilt starter, Note there is no such thing as a new starter so save some money and buy one that says rebuilt.
Look in the yellow pages on line where you live and look under automotive and search for Starter rebuilt shop and most of the time they do Alternator to.
OK back to your question, as time goes on and the starting of the engine the bearing to the start gears wear out. It happens and when it does the things that is happening to your starter is the start of a Starter failure.
Be thankful that you know it's time to have it changed, when it goes you'll have no warning and you may be stranded in some parking lot and having to get it towed to a garage and have them buy the starter which they most like would have bought it from a place where you can buy it for the same price while they charge you the going rate on top of the labour at $85.00 and hour.
Good luck and hope this helps
