How do i get the old switch out?
Need to take out ignition cylinder of my 1996 pontiac sunfire

You must remove the steering wheel and remove the signal switch to get access to the ignition lock retainer. This retainer can be a small bolt or a reccessed pin that has to be pushed to remove the lock. The key may have to be in place to help removal. If this is the case then the key should be in the" on" position.
PS The push pin may also be located at the base of the lock cylinder on the outside of the housing. Look around under the housing before getting into the steering wheel.
