Question about 1999 Pontiac Grand Am GT
Ity is a pontiac grand am.
Setting the positions on the cam gears on those is not terribly difficult, it involves locking both gears in place to get them in position. It is a bit complicated though and you really need a manual like haynes or chiltons in order to get it right. (if you don't, you will destroy the valvetrain and possibly the pistons when you start it) If buying parts, I strongly recommend you do not use anything made by SA Gear...they have no quality control and will not back up there stuff...Even if you do it correctly you can still loose the engine. Take care in making sure the tensioner is working correctly, and follow all directions. there are no "short-cuts" on this one!
