Question about 2001 Dodge Dakota
There are several Delrin clips/fasteners that hold the cable system in place. When one of these cracks/breaks, the cables come off the regulator assembly, and there's just no way to "re-route" since the mechanism is broken. I guess there is a small chance that one end of the cable just slipped out of the slotted holder, but I'm betting that one (or more) of the plastic clips have broken, and you need to change out the entire regulator. There not too hard to do, and you can by replacement aftermarket ones for about a $100.
If you ask me how to replace it, its not hard guys Take the door trim panel by taking off screws and mirror cover / pull out bottom of door and then sides pull up and outthen take off vapor barrier then look inside of door put tape on glass to hold it up take out bolts on the regulator and exchange it.
