When we start the car we get a message for the traction control, abs, steering, change oil soon, tire pressure ect all in sequence. Don't know what is causing this problem.

Sometimes if we shut off then re-start the car it goes away.

Why does my 2005 pontiac grand prix say service variable effort steerin, traction control off, and service abs?

jack up the four points of the vehicle one at a time shake the tire up to down and left to right, you have bad hub assemblies which tells you your ABS IS BAD take it from there and see what lights disappear, keep me posted and we will go from there.

I am getting a warnig saying the ABS, traction control and variable speed pwr. steering need to be serviced. Is the a wheel bearing or did a senser go bad... how would a normal guy like myself figure out...

There is a TSB that dealer has recalled on the PWR steering. youll need to check on line for that. As for the ABS once that lights up it disables traction control. To find out which ABS section is bad youll need a enhance scanner capable of ABS.

My ABS, traction control, and steering assist lights are on in my 2004 pontiac grand prix gt. The rear wheel bearing assembly was just replaced. what would cause this?

Hi, the wheel speed sensor and tone ring are built into the bearing/hub assembly. Make sure the new hub contains an ABS wheel sensor and the cable was properly connected. If it is properly connected, the new hub may be defective.

My traction control botton wont work on my 2004 grand prix is this a diy problem?

one question is your abs or brake light on. you might have a wheel abs hub going out and not reading that will prevent traction control to work

Traction Control Off and Service ABS System

If your trac and abs are both on. the problem could be a wheel speed sensor.
on some GM cars this sensor is built into the vehichles hub unit. making the bering and sensor one sealed unit. cheap hub units can be gotten (under 100 bucks) at autozone
