Question about 2006 Toyota Sequoia

1 Answer

Hi. I own a 2002 Sequoia. For the past year or so I've been experiencing a wu wu wu wu noise and vibration when I'm off the pedal and off the brake (coasting) between 15-40 mph. At higher highway speeds between 55-65 mph, I hear a very low vibration much like you would hear if a rear window was open (harmonic). Long story short, this exact problem has been addressed for 07-08 vehicles in TSB 0121-08 "Front Differential Growl/Howl/Rumble Noise at 15-30 MPH" My vehicle is covered under the Toyota Certified Warranty 7/100. The question is how do I get them to replace my differential if Toyota says the problem occurred only in 07-08 models? So far, I'm just getting the run around. I have read other boards. This is a well-known and well-documented issue amongst all 1st gen Tacomas and Sequoias, not simply those of 2007-2008.

Truck doesnt want to stop when I have the steering whell canked all the way?

there must be a vacuum leak in your brake master. try pumping the brake pedal several times every time you make a full turn of steering wheel. if this fixes your braking problem, then replace CHECK VALVE hose in your brake master.

Bleeding 02 toyota sequoia

You have a helper pushing on the brake pedal when you open the bleeders? Is fluid coming out of the bleeders when you open them?

typically you will start at the right rear, then left rear, then right front, then left front. or work your way from the farthest bleeder to the nearest bleeder to the master cylinder. Make sure the reservoir does not go dry or you will have to start over.

It is possible that when you pushed the pedal to the floor the seals in the master when through some debris and where ruined.

I have replaced the front rotors and brake callipers, front end started to rattle again today. It's only been about a year.

does the vibration happen when you brake, through the steering,if so yes the rotors need machining,if it vibrates while you drive not braking you need a wheel balance, discs can warp quickly especially if theyve been very hot,or had water on them when theyre very hot

Juddering and noise on front wheels when braking

The disks may be warped, which will cause a vibration under braking.
Also if it's an ABS system, the vibration is normal but only under heavy braking, and should not continue to vibrate when working properly.

Vibration/Rattling on right side during high speeds

I had a similar problem. The dealer change automatic transmission and differential, but the noise continu. After research on internet i think the problem is the front galiper who create a vibration on the disc wheel and the vibration frequence follow the front axle until interior car. Just press slowly the brake pedal and if the noise stop , that's it the cause i think. I dont change my galiper, but i have a new transmission . :)))
