Before you take your vehicle into the stealership and bend over to take it in the wallet on their part and labor prices, there's a good chance that you can fix the mysterious hot-on-one-side-cold-on-the-other problem that plagues our digital electronic HVAC systems.

The problem can be caused by one of two things:
The HAVC control module or the Left/Right side door actuator.
There's a very good chance it's the simpler, more affordable actuator. It's a black electronic module manufactured by CEI. It's entire job is basically to turn a little white knob that controls the hot/cold door. In many instances, it will do it's job perfectly for many years until one day you're stuck with hot air on one side and cold air on the other.

Remove the glove box, first take off the passenger side insulator located at the bottom of the instrument panel. It's held on with three christmas tree-type clips. Once it's off and out of the way, remove the three 7mm (9/32) bolts and finagle the box out of the compartment. The actuator is the black box with the white sticker that has an "R" on it. It's held on with what I believe are two 6mm screws.

You have two of them and i am not sure where the drivers side is if that is the side that is not working sorry. I think the dealer wanted $100.00 for it, I did the Salvage yard for $25.00 and got to see how much work was it to do to change mine since the car at the Salvage yard was some what apart already.
Good luck and hope this helps.

Blows cold when control is on cold both sides, blows hot drivers side ,cold passengers side with control on hot

Suspect a blend door motor actuator that controls the door for hot/cold on the passenger side to be not working. These motors are usually electric and in some cases very hard to access for testing/replacement. In some cases the entire dash assembly must be removed for repair/replacement

Heater blowing out cold air

Several things.
If the heater hoses are hot, the problem could be a blend door under the dash. The blend doors direct air thru the heater core and out the vents.

Sounds like you need a blower motor resistor located down under dash on pass side next to blower motor. This is a comon problem and I have changed many of them. thats just the fan speed problem. Ive seen the blend doors break easily on those jeeps. thats inside the heaer core box and moves the flap from hot air to cold air. If it is stuck halfway -or mostly to cold- you may only get luke warm air. If they had the heater core out-maybe they possibly broke it.

Air and heat not blowing air through vents

Either Your fan switch is burned out or you blower motor is no good, your blower motor is on the passenger side under the dash. Before you replace any parts you need to check your fuses and relays under your hood and in the car. Usually if your fan switch goes bad you will still get some air blowing thru the vents, so my guess would be blower motor, If its not a blown fuse or relay.

It sounds like you have a blend air door stuck. This is in the housing of the heater a/c blower unit under the passenger side of the dash. There is a motor on the top of the housing that could possibly be stuck or on working.
