Question about 1994 Mazda 323

Low idle problem

I have a 1.8i, DOHC mazda Astina, 1994. The car idles very low, and sometimes cut out when the fan starts at idle. Is the idle computer controlled, or can I adjust it. It recently came back from servicing before the problem started.

Simply just tighten up the accelerator cable so that on idle it hits 750rpm or slightly more 800rpm if your engine condition isn't that good.

When does is rev high and low? If it does this at idle check for a vacuum leak or maybe a blocked airflow

Idle problem

No need to replace it (idle air bypass valve) just follow this procedure I used while working for a Ford dealer, 90% of the time it cures the problem.

Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls and low idle, it is the idle speed control air-bypass valve and throttle valve, they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake

99 escort zx2 low idle and stalls after hi rpm, hi idle w/ fan on

Idle Air Control is the most likely problem, although there could be something else. But I would check that first on any ford with these symtoms.

Mazda astina bg series 1992 has an idling problem .It idles between 900-1500 rpm after warming up.Should cut back to around 750rpm idle speed after warming up. Could you please give me an idea what might...

the idle air motor in the throttle body is probably not working right it lets more air in the intake when its cold and is supposed to shut off when it warms up if its not shuttin off then it is probably not closing
