Question about 1999 Mitsubishi Montero
The truck will rev 1000 to 0 fluctuationg up and down and then goes dead. it will start but does same thing . this happened out of the blue. HELP IS IT WORTH FIXING IT HAS 177,000 MILES SHOULD I GET RID OF IT.
Sounds like your idle air control valve is bad. This valve, like it sounds, controls the idle on your vehicle and from what you make it sound like you are having idle issues. As far as if it is worth fixing, I would say yes because it is a easy fix. Not sure what engine you have so I can't look up the exact cost but you can check it out on AutoZone.com. The IAC is located on your throttle body and is pretty easy to change out. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for rating my response and for using FixYa!
