Run into the wall at the end of my driveway, 3 airbags came out, do I need to replace impact sensors and where are they located on 2004 pacifica? Does anyone know how to remove pass. airbag?
You may not always have to replace sensors, but you will have to change the airbag module (usually under front seat, sometimes in middle of dash) To remove the passenger airbag you have to take out the dash.

There are indeed 5 airbag sensors, two front impact sensors, 2 side impact sensors (only if your jeep has the optional side curtain airbags) and an internal impact sensor in the airbag control unit. So you need to have it scanned to know which sensor is faulty.
A LFC ( light Flash Code ) 42 is the front impact severity sensor on a 2004 New Body Style ( should not get this LFC on a 2004 Heritage or Lightning ).
The Front impact severity sensor is located on the center radiator support, open the hood and you will find it next to the ambient air temperature sensor.
The part number is 6L3Z-14B004-AA
You might find cleaning the connector might work, but usually it is a case of the front impact severity sensor is corroded inside the sensor itself, and needs to be replaced.
The sensor could be on for many reasons. There are three sensors on the cars front. Front center and the two side frame rails near the tires. Also the seats have sensors that will notify the air bag module if someone is sitting in that particular seat. Any one of these items can be at fault
You need to have a dealer check this with their scan tool,It is a sensor that is defective,it may be one of the impact sensors,So you'll want that repaired!
sounds like the sensor or the sensor connection is damaged have a look see. the connection might just be loose or disconnected. if this helps please rate me
call up mazda. you should be able to get it replaced for free under safety recalls. unless youre missing one completely. then youll need them to get you one and install it. cause if you accidentally set off the airbag youre out of a car. if they set one off, they fix it or replace your car for free. up to you. second option sounds better in my opinion.
