Re: How to enter unlocking code in Becker Grand Prix...
Hello I',m an M.B. tech. These becker radios can be difficult if the wrong code is entered( i believe 3 times ina row) and go into security lock. if you enter code and it does not work remove radio and get serial number of and call dealer. The way you enter 4 digit code is by entering the number with the station program keys on the top of the face plate . then after code is entered you press the * symbol and it should start working. There is a becker web site that can also assist you with radio problems it is www.beckerautosound.com . good luck

Contact the Mercedes Dealership and give them the vin for your car. The radio code will show up on the 'VMI' They may ask you to drive the vehicle in to show proof of ownership but they should get the radio working again for you at no charge. Do not just enter random numbers or you will lock the radio and may have to wait up to 1 hour for it to unlock so that the radio code can be entered again.
catalytic converter is clogged basically its stopping up your exhaust. Over time the pressure will slowly vent out, allowing your car to start, only to build up the backpressure again, stalling engine.
The following instructions will allow you to reset any GM (General Motors), Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Buick, Pontiac theft lock radio.
Requirements: the theft lock radio must be in "LOC" mode.
Procedure: 1. Turn the ignition ON (The radio should display "LOC") 2. Hold down the Radio Presets 2 and 3 buttons for six seconds 3. The radio display changes from LOC to a three-digit number. Write this number down. You now have fifteen seconds to complete the next step. 4. Press the AM/FM button 5. The radio display changes to another three-digit number. Write this number to the right of the first one. 6. You now have a six-digit number, the first three digits are from STEP 03 and the last three digits are form STEP 05 7. Call 1-800-537-5140 8. Press 1 then # (pound). You'll hear "Invalid Code, try again" 9. Press 139010 or 106010 or 206010 or 202107 then # (pound). You will be asked to enter your four or six digit code followed by * 10. Enter the number from STEP 6 then * 11. Listen to the four-digit number and write it down. It will be repeated twice 12. Turn the ignition ON (The radio displays LOC) 13. Use the MN and HR buttons to enter the code from STEP 11 14. Press the AM/FM button. The radio display changes to "SEC". Your radio is now "un-locked" and usable.
you fail to enter the correct code eight times, the radio goes into
INOP mode. You have to wait an hour with the ignition on before the
radio returns to LOC mode.
Regretfully due to reasons of theft or piracy we do not pass the radio codes here at FixYa. If you contact your local Mercedes-Benz dealer they will give you the 5 digit code. (You must have your registration and know the complete serial number of the radio)
AR82.60-P-7502-01A Coding Radio (MODEL all with CODE (750) Radio Becker Europa 2000 with CODE (751) Radio Becker Grand Prix 2000 with RDS)
If the radio is disconnected from the power supply, it is not operational when re-connected. After switching on the ignition and the radio, the readout CODE appears in the display.
The code number for the radio is advised to you on the enclosed CODE CARD.
To enter the first digit of the code number, you have to continue pressing station button 1 until the correct digit appears in the display. Adopt the same procedure for the second, third and fourth digits.
Once you have entered the correct code number with the station buttons 1, 2, 3, 4 and confirmed the entry with the SEEK button (press down), the readout CODE disappears. The radio can now be operated.
If you enter a wrong code three times, you must wait 15 minutes before making a new entry. In addition, if 9 incorrect entries are made, the radio will then not operate for 24 hours. During this time the radio and the ignition (terminal 15) must remain switched on.
AR82.60-P-7502-01B Coding Radio (MODEL all with CODE (353) Audio 30 APS with CODE (510a) Radio MB Exquisit with traffic news decoder, with RDS (Becker) with CODE (512a) Radio MB Special with traffic news decoder, with RDS.)
If the radio is disconnected from the power supply, it cannot be operated by simply reconnecting. After switching on the ignition and the radio the word "CODE" appears in the display on the radio.
The code number for the radio is given on the enclosed CODE CARD.
Enter the code number with the station button, e.g. number 1, station button 1. After entering the first number the word "CODE" disappears and the number entered appears followed by 4 dashes. The next character to be entered flashes. After entering all five numbers, the first character starts flashing again. In this state the code number can be written over as frequently as desired. A correction can be made only by entering the complete code number again.
Confirm code number: Press TUNE, AUTO/SEEK or SC button. The radio automatically switches on and indicates the radio station or frequency stored with station button 1.
If an incorrect code number is entered and confirmed, the word "CODE" appears again on the display. If an incorrect code is entered three times the word "WAIT" appears on the display and the radio locks up for approx. 10 min. If the code is entered incorrectly three times again the radio locks up again for 10 min. Three more incorrect entries (a total of 9 incorrect attempts) increase the lock-up time to 60 min. Another three incorrect entries lock up the radio for another 60 min. The waiting time runs only when the radio is switched on.
The original radio was made by Becker. I bought one for my 87 560SL on e-bay, payed 50 bucks, some require a 4 digit activation code so ask for that. here is a link to the different models of Becker stereos, just click on the year of your car. http://web.mac.com/dakota/Mercedes/Becker.html
