Check engine light

My 95 F150 idels with a little "jump" or "shudder".After about a 1/2 mile I get a check engine light. The local repair said that I was running rich and suggested that I might need a new computer or that their might be a short in a wire.He said he ran a code test but I did not get the codes. ALSO..I've replaced the O2 sensor and tried the FPR trick suggested but no positive result.Could the MAF sensor cause this and can it be tested?Any Ideas???OK Tried cleaning the MAF connector wires as suggested from another source, no good. Tried re-booting the computer, no good. Any other suggestions?

Have you checked the MAP sensor? located rear engine area, center upper firewall, see if vacuum line is attached or leaking, I believe your local autozone can test it to determine whether or not it is good, running rich is a good sign that you have a problem with it or vacuum supplied to it, let me know

Check the ECT coolant sensor for sticking in a false low range letting engine run rich when warm. Check for vacuum leaks also.

95 16v ?
what DTC, post DTC? why skip that,... there are many 02 DTC.
most fail for heater, dead,
lets play a game. say;
1: CEL out running, is it , now?
2: you did the 60k by the book, did you? if not why not?
3: checked spark timing, its good, not way off, is it?
the 60k requires a new Timing belt, ever check that, or the timing of the cam? or compression, if not why not.?
no motor can run right with all or any of those stated items bad.
is the fuel filter packed up. 60k.
lets now pretend the 60k was done and done right.
click 60k here
http://www.fixkick.com/IGN_timing/tune-ups.html

"what can make my 95 very rich?,"
Ill pretend it's a MPI 16v engine, not TBI. big differences that.
The 16v has 4 injectors, quad trouble !
rich? you never said under what conditions, hot or cold?
ill pretend, its all the time. rich. not just cold or hot.
1: engine never reaches 180F and holds there (miniumum)
does it? if not it will run rich forever. the ECU thinks its cold all the time and guess what it is.
2: Exhaust cracks, near the 02 sensors, making said sensor useless (new or old)
3: fuel pressure not near 30psi ($20 gage) found at 60. opps. bad.
4: leaking injectors.
5: clogged injectors, (seems odd but is true) ask.(complex)
there is an order to finding this.
ask for detailed help here, totally free.

I have a 95 Mitsubishi Mirage, 1.8, manual transmission, distributor driven. 179k miles. Just started today, shudder after shifting in all gears, levels out after a moment, but seems to shudder stil

I would be checking the engine mounts as the shudder is when the engine is bouncing around under load
it it has a cable operated clutch, the problem could be that as the engine is allowed to move , it is affecting the operation of the pressure plate
it may be true that the distributor may have a problem but in this case , not electrical
distributor problems are limited ,to starting, missing, irregular timing but not what you describe

Idles rough has power f150

If exhaust is rich, you may have excessive fuel getting dumped into cylinder(s). A sicking or leaking fuel injector can cause this. How many miles are on the engine? Improperly seating valves can cause this also. Or if timing is incorrect.

2004 F150 SuperCrew, check engine light flashes, engine runs roughly and shudders. Engine light stays on and the engine goes back to running smoothly.

Flashing CEL is an indication of a misfire. You would need a code scanner to find out which cylinder it is.
The code should be a P030n where n= 1 to 8 ( the cylinder number ). Could be a P0300, which is a misfire indication.

Truck is running rough no power after 50 miles. 02 rich and lean error codes, ignition short error code. After checking codes not clearing them re-ran diagnostic and gives code 111 all conditions normal...

Yes, computer COULD be bad... but it sounds to me like your fuel filter is clogged.
After pulling on it for some time, it is unable to provide adequate fuel to the engine - so the engine runs lean.... and if you step on the gas hard, the engine should shudder...and may even die from excessive fuel starvation.

Not sure about the ignition short code... maybe you caused that via troubleshooting.
Cheap, external fuel filter change out every 50K miles...first... then go from there....

Runs rich, check engine light, shudder when idleing

On your fuel rail is a fuel pressure regulator. It is round metal part and will have a vaccuum hose on it. With the truck running pull the vaccuum line off of the regulator and see if any fuel comes out. If so replace the regulator. While a PCM can fail it is rare and you most likely have some other type of issue. There are some other sensors that can make it run rich but without any codes I can't guide you any better. Good Luck
