Question about 1995 Chrysler LeBaron
As I drive the car just stops running. will start again but keeps dying after a min or sometimes 5. Would defective battery or alternator cause this?
I would lean more towards the fuel filter...
I had this problem before. The dealer had the car for a week and could not find the problem...
I decided to do a full tune up to see if that would help (which I should have done since the begining...) and found that the fuel filter was full of what I can only describe as mud...
How can this happen? Well, if you ever fill up your tank while or right after the big fuel tanker is filling the underground tanks in your gas station, the fuel will stir up all the gunk that accumulates at the bottom of the fuel tanks. Sure, some of the gas stations have some amount of filtering, but I have found this to be the least of them.
Other than this, change your engine air filter and put some injector cleaner into your gas tank.
If the above fails, head out to a pep boys or advanced auto parts (if available) and ask them to check your alternator. Most locations do it for free or for a very low charge.
