Replace the thermostat or you may need a new radiator core.

The cars air works off of two relay switches. I was having simular problems and noticed that my main fan that turns on after the car is turned off stopped working. to my surprise the fan motor had melted in place causing the fuse to blow. If the relay switch is blown or not working the air conditiong fan will not turn on. I would definitly start there with the relay switches there are two for the main fan and the Airconditioning fan. there is also a fuse for the main fan I think it is a ten amp fuse. The Fuse box is located under the hood by the battery.

Hii I'm new to cars. My 92 prelude gauge still

Hello,

I understand being new to cars, but that is ok. I am hear to help you. Some cars run hot, that is normal in a lot of cars. As long as it does not go into the red or way over the half way point your ok. But this is what I would do, this will make sure that car water temp/engine temp is working properly. First of all check your engine oil and make sure it is full at the dip stick. And then do the same with your radiator, make sure it is full with antifreeze. Also, you can have the antifreeze checked, they can test it, to make sure the right mixture of antifreeze and water are proper mixture. If not enough antifreeze compared to water ratio is off, then that can cause some over heating or possible over heating issues. So, in conclusion: first things to check is engine oil level and antifreeze level and mixture. I hope this helps you, thanks mike, expert fix ya man.

I have a 1996 honda prelude i have changed everything in the coolant system and it still over heats what could possibly be causing this

im sorry to tell you that after changing all components in cooling system, (Im assuming this included the waterpump?) your problem is most likely being caused from cylinder head gasket failure. Removal of the cylinder head to replace this gasket should only be undertaken by a very mechanically minded person. Good luck.

Car did not have adaquate heat for Michigan. Changed Thermostat. There was not one in upon inspection. Car is overheating now.

People remove the t-stat because of overheating, (it sticks closed) this is a temp fix, you probibly have an air lock in the cooling system. sometimes it can take 30 minuntes to work out, make sure the cooling fans kick on.

I have a 03 honda civic the heat works but when your driving you can feel the heat cooling off. now the funny things that if you shut it off and turn it back on it works again. i have back flush the system...

If the engine temp goes down while you are driving , it is a good indication that the thermostat is stuck open. Could be the one you bought was defective , OR , after you installed it , the block overheated due to a vapour lock in the engine , and the new thermostat got cooked.
Vapour lock and overheating is quite common after changing a thermostat if the system was not properly refilled and bled after doing the job.

Over heating

Is the cooling fan working, is the system low on coolant?? You may have either a defective cooling fan or a stuck closed thermostat, either will cause overheat condition

Leaking sunroof

Had same problem with 91 Prelude, after rain, water would leak from moonroof, especially when stopping, having a wet neck on the way to work is not fun! Solution was to remove the small screens and restrictor caps on the drain hoses. The hoses can be acessed through the trunk behind the quarter panel cover on either side, just have a can ready for the skanky water to drain once the plugs are removed. When all clear, the drains should drain out right behind the mud flaps in the rear on each side. There are fron drains as well, these run behind the driver and passanger kick panels and drain around the mud flaps in the front.
