You might want to check the gear selector switch that is located on the driver side of the tranny, if the 4x4 is electric and not manual for engagement, selector must read neutral to disengage 4 wheel drive. by experience if you drove it through deep water gear selector switch can get damaged.
Your hubs may be locked as well. Try reversing for 30 or more feet to try manually unlocking your hubs. Make sure 4WD is turned off when trying.

2003 Kia Sorento 4 wheel drive will not disengage

Best way to fix it is to lift one side of the car using a jack. Get front and back wheels off the ground. Then put the car into neutral and out of four wheel drive into 2 wheel high ratio. Start the car and rev it up to about 3000rpm for a short while. It should then release the four wheel drive.
It gets stuck mainly because of transmission wind up. Ie tension in the transmission.

Front wheels will not disengage EVER when I use four wheel drives

This happens on these two to four wheel drive units, you need to get it to a garage that knows how to unlock or disengage the four wheel drive , doing this on your own will cause more damage.

What does free wheeling hubs do i have lots of noise comming from them while in two wheel drive

Free wheeling hubs are installed on the hubs to engage the axle and lock to the hubs making them turn. When you disengage the hubs (freewheel) the axle is not driving the hub hence you have effective 2 wheel drive I suggest you check wheel bearings or make sure that they are in fact disengaged properly

Wont disengage out of 4 wheel drive 1998 ford ranger first time its stuck in 4 low we have backed up turned switch numerous times shut it off and restarted

Be sure to put the truck in neutral, while engine is running, while you disengage from 4 wheel drive (low) to 4 wheel drive (high) and then finally to 2 wheel drive. It is critical to shift transmission into neutral when switching out of 4WD Low, as indicated in your owner's manual. Hopefully, this will help to FixYa problem!
