Hello I have a 96 chevy tahoe I replaced the heater core the thermostat & flushed the system I had heat when I finished but the next morning it was only blowing cold air could this be the water pump?

Chuck, having done this last year on my 99' Tahoe I will tell you to check to be sure you have filled the system and purged all the air out of it. Be sure to open the heater wide open (all the way into the red area) to make sure the heater valve is letting water into the heater core..You can park the truck with the nose higher than the rear and that will help purge the system of air also. Sometimes it take a while to get the system completely full of coolant.

My heater core is bypassed, car overheats, leaks when started and shakes, lexus is200

More than likely since your heater core is by-passed,your thermostat was probaly removed and you may be without one. Here's a link to check and replace it.Here's a link to heater core.Your heater core could be bad since it was bypassed, does the front floor board have water stains anywhere.

Replaced thermostat and water pump on 96 contour- still overheats and no heat out of heater core

Did you bleed the air out of the cooling system? If not do this. Raise the car up in front with a floor jack, then fill the coolant tank as full as poss, start and run the engine until it just gets to the edge of hot, then shut off the engine off and run cold water over the radiator core, this will **** the coolant in and expel the air. If that does not cure the problem you may have a leaking cylinder head gasket.

1989 jeep wrangler keeps overheating

Fill the rad or overflow bottle right to the top and run the engine with no cap on,if you see a constant flow of bubbles your head gasket is leaking or you have a crack somewhere in the cooling system.

My mechanic told me I had a radiator leak. I replaced the radiator. The car still overheats. I have talked to my mechanic several times and now he says I need a thermostat. Whay didn't he replace the...

the cooling systems consists of a radiator, radiator cap, water pump, thermostat, hoses, heater core and sometime a heater control valve that open water lines to heater core. You may need a cooling system flush if water pump, radiator have been replaced. flush the system.change the thermostat and have the heater core checked too if you can get to it.
does the cooling fan kick on to cool the radiator..check that too.replace radiator cap and check cooling fan yourself...let me know if need anything else.

You made no mention of thermostat or radiator cap, both are common problems. The cap you can have tested at any good auto parts store, to see if it's holding adequate pressure.

My heater not working, i replaced thermostat and radiator hoses, had radiator flushed and rodded, and still no heat. What is wrong?

Too much blockage in heater hoses or heater core.
Bypass valve may be stuck on "bypass" .

1. Remove bypass "Tees", but don't discard.
Replace with straight-through hose fittings.
The core may start leaking under the water pressure since there is no bypass hose.

Once the heater starts working, put Tees back in place. You need bypass protection or the engine will overheat.

Prizm overheats, heater core leaks, no heat

You can bypass the core or fix it that's up to you but I would change or remove the thermostat first. If it still overheats then start looking at the water pump and radiator. Hope this helps. Good luck.
