Question about 2003 Dodge Durango
I tried replacing the bulbs and the brake switch. I think the switch was bad now on my instrument panel im getting an error code saying there is a possible brake hydraulic system malfunction.? How can this be corrected and would this cause my stop lights not to work. Is it also driveable?
The brake system error code is for a faulty master cylinder. check the cylinder function and check your brake fluid level as well. the master cylinder is located on the fire wall directly in line with the steering wheel under the hood. the brake fluid reservoir is located and attached to the master cylinder on top. check the master cylinder and fluid thoroughly.
Concerning the brake lights, you will need to inspect the wiring harness in the trunk or back hatch. make sure the brake light wiring harnesses is in good condition. check the bulb housing as well.
replace the brake light wiring harness if found to be faulty.
