My 2005 honda cr-v is in park the light is on but will not crankover has a new battery but if mover the shifter to neutal it will start what could it be?

It means that the Parking position Shifter does not giving signal to ignition and by pushing the shifter even more and then you start ok it shows the problem you have. Therefore ask a qualified mechanic to adjust the shifter position in order to avoid this problem.

When starting from stop sign, it felt as tho the truck was in neutral.....now it doesn't have reverse?...goes forward.....high rpm's

Fist check the transmission fluid level by putting the truck in neutal with the parking break on, leave the engine running, open the hood pull the dipstick labeld trans out wipe it clean the put it in and pullit out to take a measurement if it is low fill it up and this should solve your problem if not, then you may have a broken syncros plate in the r=tranmission and you need to have it replaced.

How do you replace an ignition switch on a 2002 chevy venture van? I have a 2002 chevy venture van and have had a problem with the starter staying engaged. I replaced the started and it fixed it...

So what it only does it in park or neutral ! The vehicle starting circuit is only suppose to let it start in park or neutal . Park neutral safety switch won't allow B+ voltage to S terminal on the starter solenoid unless the vehicle is in park or neutral . It's probably the starter relay contacts stuck closed . You really should learn how it works before guessing as to the problem . Plus learn automotive electrical testing ! The ignition switch when turned to the start position send's a voltage signal to the PCM - engine computer .The PCM will energize the starter relay to crank the engine . PCM / ABS 10amp fuse in the I/P fuse box supply's B+ voltage to the park / neutral safety switch . When in park or neutral the B+ voltage goes through the control side of the relay to the PCM which will supply a ground to energize the starter relay .

THE ENGINE DOES NOT START EVEN AFTER REPLACING A BATTERY WITH A NEW BATTERY

might be the starter or starter solenoid. Also, try starting in neutal, in case it's the Park-Neutral safety switch on the steering column

2004 hyundai elantra starter

You culd be having more than one problem. First if you are having problem putting the car in park. The car may not actually be fully in park and therefore the neutral safety switch is active and telling to car you are in revers or in gear. If this is true then your car won't start for safety reasons. Try putting it in Neutral and see if it starts then. Ormay have a neutal safety switch that is bad. Can you hear the starter click when you turn the key to start?
