Question about 2005 Dodge Durango

1 Answer

2005 Durango won't start

I have a 2005 Durango that will not start. Replaced the starter and battery, still won't start. Not sure what else it could be, unless it's a faulty starter.

starter?
New battery drained = something is still powered, open/short.
new ign switch and steering won't lock = something was not put together right and the ignition is staying on and draining the battery.

2005 Altima won't start, hear clicking sound coming from fuse box,key stuck in ingintion, won;t turn over, tried to jump start.

the clicking that you hear is coming from the starter relay. sounds like your ignition starter switch or ignition lock cylinder is bad.

My 2001 Dodge Durango won't start at times. I replaced battery and had alternator checked. Both checked out fine?? Help! ??

When it won't start, will the engine turn over and try to start, or does it act like a dead battery?

My 2005 durango want cran over

What happens when you attempt to start the engine? If nothing happens when you turn the key,you need to check the battery to determine its state of charge. Many starters won't do a thing unless there is at least 10 volts available from the battery. A low battery does not necessarily mean the battery is the problem, though. The battery may have been run down by prolonged cranking while trying to start the engine. Or, the battery's low state of charge may be the result of a charging system problem. Either way, the battery needs to be recharged and tested. If the battery is low, the next logical step might be to try starting the engine with another battery or a charger. If the engine cranks normally and roars to life, you can assume the problem was a dead battery, or a charging problem that allowed the battery to run down. If the battery accepts a charge and tests okay, checking the output of the charging system should help you identify any problems there.

My darango won't start, replaced that alternator and relays. starter is still good. but it won't even click over.

this could be as simple as a bad battery have you tryed to jump start it? if you try and that dosent work make sure you have power going to the starter with jumper cables on the battery. it should at the very least make a clicking sound while trying to start it check the battery posts also make sure they are clean and if it does click give it a minute and try starting it again.[ dont take the cables off the battery while waiting] the fact the starter doesent even click when you try to start it tells me no power to it or bad starter remember just because its new dosent mean it works i cant tell you how many times i have put somethig on a car and had to take it back off because it didnt work from the boxx new. and make sure the starter wires are tight and clean. if no clicking and you have power to starter then starter is bad.. i hope this helps..

(8 durango. just had starter replaced. Engine will not start. No electrical activity to anything, lights, radio, horn, Not even a click when I turn the key.

sure sound like a dead battery or bad connection at the battery. when you replace a starter you disconnect the battery . and maybe they put the cable back on and forgot to tighten it. it might have started a couple of times and then nothing at all. good luck
