Replaced fuel pump,filter and oxygen sensor. still have the same problem. any ideas?

I Would look into a vaccume leak. I had the same problem with my Blazer

According to GregsToo.com: " This is a common problem found especially in high-mileage vehicles. Before you get too worried, let's take a look at some of the possible easy fixes....
- The O2 sensor. The oxygen sensor (or O2 sensor) is a device that helps monitor the emissions of your vehicle so as to analyze the air-to-fuel ratio going through the engine In a nutshell, you need to proper amount of oxygen to properly burn the fuel in the engine. Not enough oxygen results in unburn fuel (rich mixture) and too little oxygen (lean mixture) causes more pollutants and can actually damage your engine. When this sensor detects a problem, it sends a signal to the engine to change the amount of fuel being used. If your sensor is malfunctioned, it could be messing up your fuel mixture; and if it's out altogether, your car's pretty much just guessing as to what mixture it needs at the moment.
- Fuel filter. Changing the fuel filter (especially if it's been a while) may be your ticket here. If fuel can't get into the engine, you're not going to be getting anywhere very quickly. In addition to this, it's not a bad idea to get an injector flush altogether.
- Clogged air filter or blocked exhast. Air is a very important part of proper car function (or any type of combustion, for that matter). Make sure your engine's getting the necessary amount of oxygen it needs to operate.
- Timing belt. If this is off by even 1 tooth, it can cause acceleration problems.
And of course there are many other possibilities -
  • Fuel pump may need to be replaced
  • Transmission may need some work
  • A slipping clutch could be the culprit
  • A seemingly unrelated issue that surprises even the most experienced mechanic"

My 92 cavalier 2.2 L will run great until it warms up then cuts out bad. Wont run over 10 mph when it starts cutting out. I have replaced fuel pump and filter


please check and fix:
1- coolant temperature sensor
2- ignition coil
3-oxygen sensor
4-fuel pressure regulatinf valve

I have a 1992 daihatsu charade automatic with the 1.3 litre efi motor and it gets poor fuel economy about 10 litres to 100 kms. The motor has done only 130000kms and runs and idles fine .I have had all...


Some sensors on cars will not set a code untill 3 to 5 minutes of drive time. So uplugging them and plugging them back in will not set a code. Also some of them will not set a code until the car has been driven twice, this is called a two trip code set. If you haven't already done this I would do a tune up, ie plugs wires cap rotor air and fuel filter these are the most common fixes for bad fuel economy.

My 92 vw cabriolet is blowing the fuel pump fuse after about 5 seconds. reckon why? replaced fuel pump - no luck. cant find the proper location of the fuel pump relay. manual says (12) lower right hand...


FUSES AND RELAYS LOCATED LEFT OF THE STEERING COLUMN.YOUR FUEL PUMP WIRES IS SHORTING TO GROUND.CHECK WIRES LOOK FOR SIGNS OF RUBBING AGAINST SOMETHING.

I would suspect the crank angle sensor 'CAS' this can be checked by the fault codes

What fuse did they change? Are you sure it wasn't a relay or sensor they changed? You need to check the computer codes and test the fuel pressure. It wouldn't be a clogged catalytic converter if it happens only occasionally but could be a bad O2 sensor, fuel pump or filter, fuel pressure regulator, VSS (vehicle speed sensor), dirty throttle body or bad IAC motor, throttle position sensor, MAF sensor. See there's lots of things to check that's why you need to check the codes and fuel pressure first.

Very high fuel consumption on 2002 Honda Odyssey


transmission slipping dragging brakes.timing off worn timing belt .bad spark plugs + wires +coil.defected valves and worn cam shaft.use scanner to check oxygen sensor. run engine 5 minutes look at scanner . should read closed loop . if read open loop replace oxygen sensor.
