Vin # is generally repeated in several places. It can be found on a small plate at the lower corner of the drivers side of the windshield, again on a plate on the firewall and also on a sticker inside the drivers door. Sometimes the number is also stamped into the door pillar of the body itself.

In most cases, the chassis serial number is hidden underneath the seats or carpet. The best bet to find it, even if it takes a few hours to do, will be to remove all the seats and carpets from the vehicule. That way you will have the whole floor visible and you will have a much better chance to find it. You might also find a cap along the way labeled Chassis Serial Number which will hide the number stamped on the sheet metal, and you won't need to go any further. On my toyota echo 2005 it's hidden underneath such a cap underneath my passeger seat between the 2 mounting bolts for the seat for example.
