Town Car 2006 door numeric pad issue

Door code does not work. Have the original code, but my guess is one of the drivers pressed some combination in error that disabled the numeric key pad. Any suggestions, how to fix it, so I can use the numeric pad on the door again?

There was no owner change. We used this code for 3 years. Past couple of weeks it is not working 100% of the time. I tried pressing last two buttons, then entered the normal code and it worked.

Any suggestion why this maybe happening once in a while?

Best way to check the numeric keypad is to press the last 2 buttons simultaneously. (7-8 + 9-0) If you hear the door lock, then the keypad is working. If this is the case, it's possible that the previous owner added their own code. This is done when applying the original code and then immediately entering their own code. This is undone by disconnecting the negative battery cable for 10mins. This should restore the keyless entry back to the factory defaults meaning your original code should now work.

Hope this solves your problem. Best of luck and please post back with any other questions.

Sometimes with wear, you need to be more precise instead of pressing anywhere on the button (i've had 3 Continentals over the years, one of them had some bare spots on a few wires which seems to cause a few problems on everything inside the drivers door, keyless entry, windows etc). Your car is newer and shouldn't have any bare spots so my guess is it could be a loose plug or wiring harness. If you feel I've provided a solution for you, please rate my answer. All the best!

All vehicles are pretty much the same with replacing a door. There will be bolts holding it on when you open the door, unplug the electrical and take off the bolts.

WHERE CAN I FIND THE DOOR KEY CODE?

The universal lock number for ALL Lincolns, and Fords is...press 8 then 9...:) The factory 4 digit code to unlock the door pad is located in the trunk under the lid...sometimes hard to find...You can get free help with this from your local Lincoln/Ford dealer's service manager...they sometimes hace to call the Ford national contact number to secure the factory 4 digit code for your specific Lincoln. There are other uses of the key pad too. Be sure to be persistent with the dealer or national hot line...they can help:) Hope this helps.

Power door lock inoperable on passenger sliding door only

Not sure if they are same on 2006 but there should be a couple of small rounded metal contacts, or similar, on door that meet with door post to complete the connection. When you find them, clean them off with a little fine steel wool or SOS pad, minus the soap, and see if that doesn't cure it.
