Check the fuel pressure, is it possible that you connected the pump the wrong way and it's running backwards? Check the injector harness with a 6 volt bulb and make sure you have pulsing at the injectors.

Check all the wire connection on the throttle body, the throttle position sensor may not be sending the proper signals to the ECM which controls the fuel injector. Here is a link to retrieving the DTC codes which i hope can help you get your serra running again.
Good luck and hope this helps.

What engine is in your truck? if it is the 4.3l v-6 this engine is very picky about the fuel pressure. it needs at least 55-56 psi to start. you need to get a fuel pressure gauge and check the pressure. i have had a few time when the parts store has given me the wrong pump with not pressure only 40 psi. or you could have a bad fuel pressure regulator. it could be leaking pressure off faster then what the pump can keep up with! check your fuel pressure with a gauge and see where you are at

Hey i have a 1998 chevy 1500 the truck will start for1 to 5 seconds and then it dies i do not understand what the problem is please help

Hi James:
Since it starts you have spark so I'd be looking at the fuel delivery end of things. Most of us pump the gas pedal so that would prime the motor (accelerator pump) so there's fuel in the carb. I'd be looking at gummed up jets as a possible and trying to clean up the carb.
Now, if you tell me it's a diesel I'll be completely demoralized.

1996 ford ranger will not stay started I put gas in the carb but it only runs for a min. Ran for two day good then just stoped

sounds like fuel pump in tank is not working. Can you hear it hum when you turn key to ON?

It should hum for 5 seconds and build up 40 psi of fuel pressure.

I ran ouy of gas in 1999 chevy i put gas back in it and know it won't start

You may have siezed the fuel pump. Fuel is used as a lubricant for the fuel pump. When you run out of gas and continue to crank the engine the fuel pump siezes from lack of lubrication. Sometimes you can get lucky by banging on the fuel tank while someone else turns the key to the run position (Not cranking the engine). keep slapping your hand against the fuel tank. This may free up the fuel pump. when you hear the fuel pump hum again then all is good. Also check your fuses, maybe you jsut burned up the fuel pump fuse.

O have a 96 Jimmy starts if u poor gas down it but will only run half throttle give it more and it cuts out change fuel filter what else could it be please help me

Check your fuel pump. Take the gas cap off, have someone turn the key to "run", and listen. You should hear the fuel pump humming for a few seconds, and then stop. If you don't hear a humming, you will likely need to change the fuel pump.
New ones are a ridiculous price for that truck. Try an auto wrecker. Let me know how you make out.

Toy starts runs 10 seconds and stops change fuel filter now wont

When you tur the key forward do you hear the fuel pump running? You should hear a low hum for about 20 seconds near the gas tank and then it stops. If you hear this your pump is good. If it keeps running or you can't hear it at all it's bad or the main fuel pump fuse is blown.

You need a new fuel filter or fuel pump. Listen by the gas tank while someone turns the key forward to the run position. NOT the start position. You should hear the fuel pump hum for about 20 seconds then stop. If you don't hear it you need a fuel pump. If you do hear it start with a fuel filter and go from there.

Wont start or stay on

From the info you provided, it seems like it is not getting constant supply of fuel. I think that don't have a carburator. It has a TBI(Throttle Body Injector. You should hear a faint humming noise at the back coming from within the fuel tank when you turn the key on. Thats the fuel pump. Your fuel pump may have gone out.
