The newer Cars have a start relay (not the starter solenoid) it is usually in the engine compartment @ the firewall or wheelwell. It will be grouped with some other relays & possibly some fuses.

i just had this same problem on my wife's 98. check the alternator to starter hot wire (at starter solenoid) hers was rusted not passing enough current to crank starter. 5 amp for solenoid, 80 amp for starter. jumper wire off battery worked every time. replaced connector and all good. coroded wires = higher resistance = lower amperage passing and possable fire-hazard

My neon wont crank over at all.i got power every where else

Are you saying the engine will not crank, or cranks but will not start ?
If it will not crank, you have a 30amp fuse that powers the ignition switch and the starter relay.
You would need to find out if that fuse has power and if you have power at the starter relay.
If it cranks, the first thing to check is the ASD relay.

Dodge neon 2001 will not crank at all. battery is

solenoid is part of the starter so best bet is to remove and have tested at an auto parts store.

I try to start my dodge neon 2002 and it makes a clacking or ticking noise but wont start

You probably have a bad or failing battery. Will it jump start and continue to run OK?

Car engine died while driving. now wont crank. however all lights and assorys work . wcould the cpu cause this? the not cranking part

i would look at the starter relay on the starter. it also supplies power to the ignition and starter. might be bad. good luck.

Your starter could be frozen or your battery is strong enough to light the lights just not spin the starter
