Question about 2003 Honda Civic
I had a flat battery so removed it for recharge. On reconnection the alarm goes off (30s on 30s off cycle.) The remote locking still works fine - I've tried both fobs - and the car will start. But the alarm will not turn off. Although the siren goes, the hazards do not flash.
I got the RAC out to take a look. The battery has good voltage and the alternator is generating enough to charge it. It has an after-market stereo - I've tried reinstalling the original in case the car thinks it's been stolen but no luck. We couldn't work out which fuse covers the alarm, and I can't speak to Honda as it's a holiday here.
With the noise, the car's basically un-drivable. Ideally I'd like to know how to reset the alarm to stop it going off? If not, which fuse to remove so that I can at least drive it to Honda garage rather than having to pay for a tow truck?
Found mine (1996 Civic) after MUCH searching in 20 degree weather, in the ashtray!
