Question about 1999 Dodge Caravan
I have a 2004 V6 dodge Grand Caravan and the engine light comes on. The error code is P0700 (transaxle control system fault) and P1770. How do I fix this problem? Is this a transmission or control module problem? where is the control module located?
Your P0700 code needs to be addressed right away. This signifies a problem with the solenoid pack, which is an external part that can be fixed for around $200 if you do it yourself, $300 if you take it somewhere. But a bad solenoid pack can mess up the whole tranny resulting in a total rebuild, which runs anywhere from $1200 to $2000 depending on where you go.
Your P1770 error is a Clutch Solenoid Circuit Malfunction. Definitely sounds like you have a solenoid problem. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for ranking my response and for using FixYa!
