Question about 1987 Nissan Pickup

1 Answer

1994 nissan truck seems to be sluggish.

1994 nissan truck has V6 when you start it and shut it off works ok, when you kill it while under a load you can not start it. it will turn over but it will not start. I have spark and I smell fuel. I just bought this truck for my son he seems to kill it alot learning how to drive. please advise. Oh I was told they put a Japan motor in it. I guess this is a motor they took out of another truck in Japan and sent it over here. I changed plugs and wires.

Hello, I would first check your fuel and air filters first. I would also check and see if your spark plugs are fouled and I would do a general tune up to see if this corrects your issue. I would do a basic oil filter and oil change, spark plug and wires, fuel and air filters, and rotary cap and button. I would try to run some higher octane such as 89 and some fuel injector cleaner first and your air filter to see if this fixes your problem. Is this truck a manual by chance? If the vehicle is over 100,000 miles you may have a bad O2 sensor as well. Autozone offers free diagnostics of your system and this would pinpoint an electrical issue if you have one. I would check and see if your air filter is clogged or not first if it looks dirty this may be your problem. I hope this fixes your problem for you!

Were is my switch at on a 1994 Nissan pickup for the fuel shut off at. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Todd

There is no switch, per se. There is a relay under the hood, the diagram looks likes it's along the right fender well in a row of relays (for the V6 engine). Pulling this relay out should stop the pump from working. There may also be a fuse for the fuel pump in the fuse panel. The Haynes manual I have covers 1980 - 1996, so is not necessarily accurate for later model years.

I am assuming your fans are working, if not check the fuses. Since the fans are working then there is a themostat sensor that has gone bad

Marker lights do not work. 1994 nissan pickup SE

I would start by checking all the fuses, then check the headlight switch, test it for power as you did the tail light, then check the wiring coming out of the cab down the frame to the rear of bed check for a short but if all fuses are good then will not be a short, may be a bad switch and the most important is the bulbs, make sure they are good.
