try to be more clear.
how'd the pipes get lost? or photo of the mess, posted.
the heater cores on most modern cars have no valve.
so there are just 2 hoses. and the core is not polarized at all
so it does not matter unless using factory stock hoses
and they do not reach , connected wrong.
easy no?? try it both ways , one way does fit !
if factory stock hoses are used.
why call hoses pipes? or is his a core Pipe extension, question
buy the service manual ends this buy and read he HVAC pages.
'
or get a shop tech to fix it , HE KNOWS HOW> do it now.
Left to left, right to right

I think you could be right about there being air trapped in the system.
Or the heater core(radiator) is plugged.
Either way you need a pressurized radiator coolant pump to put the coolant in without air being trapped.
Although,i have seen it done by jacking the vehicle up high enough that the radiator was now higher than the heater core level, and then the coolant was put in.
But this is dangerous to try.
SOURCE: ford bantam rocam 1.6i speedo, temperature gauge and rev counter not working
Sometimes when the batery of vehicle goes flat or when u fit a new car batery to the bantams they love to give that problems like gauges not working rpm not working speedo not working and cluster display is dead, u disconect the batery termanils and for example fit positive termanil and arc. Or short til that blue spark occur then u swop around negative on and arc positive, leave the ignition switched on arc til gauges move!! Don't ask me why but that happend to me! A autoelek friend of mine showed me this! NB don't tri this with vehicles with a lot of elektric featers it can cause demage to ecu (engine control unit)
