You can find a chilton, haynes or motor manual for your car at your public library with pictures and explanations as too where your hoses go, i prefer the haynes manual for detail, but thier all helpful..........hope it helps.

When my bronco gets hot it wants to stall out. I also notised that there was a wire missing on the round thing on the side of the carb, does it need a wire connected to it? cause there is a place for one

The round thing on the side of the carb could just be your elec choke, in which case you need that hooked up for cold starting. As far as stalling out when hot, that can come from vapor locking due to a bad gas cap or a blocked vent hose going back to the gas tank.Or you could just need to rebuild the carb as it is getting old. There are cheap kits offered at places like Auto Zone and Advance.I would check all your lines and hoses for vacum leaks also.

How dose egr valve connect to intake on 93 buick lesbre 3.8

Just find a vacume hose that has vacume to it when you accelarate with car running pull a vacume hose off from carburator check by putting your finger or a vacume gage to it to see if you got vacume if not accelarate the carb by pushing accelarator (left side of carb driver side) if you have vacume when you accelarate you can use that vacume line

Where do the three vacum line go on the egr on a 1985 corvette

You do not need to connect the three vacume hoses to the EGR just find one that has vacume to it upon accelaration with the car running pull a vacume hose off the carburator with a vacume gage or your finger check to see if you got vacume if not accelarate carb if you do connect vacume line to EGR

I Had Ford explorer 2003 when i take stop engine shuts off any help?

I have seen many of these die out due to a broken or cracked vacum hose. Look under the hood and listen for a whistling or hi vacum noise. You can also take carb cleaner and spray around vacum hose and pcv valve and intake. If the motor revs up or stalls out when you do this then you definitl have a vacum leak. Find and replace.

If I am wrong about the vacum hose I woulds inspect idle air control motor, throttle position sensor, (both canbe cleaned as a temporary fix) or worst case may be a fuel pump.

Transmission wont shift to second gear

The vacume hose on the vacume modulater on the trans mission is nt hooked to full engine vacume or the engine isn't making vacume. The governer will make the trans shift to second anyway at redline but it's preety hard on an old car to redline it just to find out/ It's possible that youv'e got the shift detent cable that hooks to the carb set too tight or it's stuck as if it's floored. with the cable disconnected it should shift out al the way real early as long as thirs vacume on the modulater. Gas mileage freaks that drive around slowly unhook th shift cale so the trans shifts into high gear real early. Not much for passing and acceleration but they get a little bit better gas mileage.

Windstar 2000 no vac at the booster-have great vac at the carb. just have regular brakes , no power brakes. don't believe to have a leak or at least one that I can hear engine runs fine

Check vacum at brake booster if you have vacum there bad brake booster, if you don't follow vacum line check there, vacum line should go to intake, if you do have vacum replace vacum hose.

Truck starts but idles really ruff. sometimes idles ruff and then dies. tried cleaning carb with carb cleaner, also disconnected fuel line at carb and checked for pressure and that was good. really need...

you probably have a vacume leak leading to vacume advance to listen for a vacume leak take a piece of garden hose @3 ft long stick one end to ear and the other end arround the distributer cap with the enging running it will saund like a hiss if you hear it replace the hose. which you can get at any auto parts store

It is possible that you do have bad rings and is causing an excess amount of crankcase pressure. Since you just have a hose hooked up now. Try running it to the big port vacuum fitting on the base of the carb.

i dont know if you have checked the vacuum lines underneath the dash but my truck was doing it after i replaced the heater core and i come to find out that it was the vacuum line that comes through the fire wall that was disconnected. after i hooked it back up it started working right again.
