Tapping sound for left side of motor the head

I have a 1995 rodeo with a twin cam, if looking at the motor the left side has a tapping sound at top end of the motor, could it be the cam going bad or could it be a rocker lose or a valve spring that is broken, i only hear the sound at low rpms when the motor get's to 2000 the sound is gone and i sound like a new motor, only at low rpm i hear the sound and, it is on the left side of the motor.

If its the 3.1 or 2.8 engines this is a collapsed lifter. it is normal. your local G.M. dealer has a oil additive that will fix your noisey lifter.

Where is freeze plug on 1995 geo tracker

old post.
This is really a suzuki G16 engine question
thats ok,
The G16s are used on Suzuki's and Trackers
Vitara's , Esteems, no others world wide.

I have all the photos and books on those cars.
real books and all parts lists. on them , graphics tool.
the freeze plugs (core plugs on all over.)
IN 1996 only one engine, G16b.
But all G16 blocks these are the same.
sides on all G16 base blocks.
2 left side 1 above filter, one just to rear of that, they are huge.
have to be blind to miss left side, (left means same as left car door)

the problem here is there are 2 engines in 1995, then one in 1996
the heads on both engine are NOT THE SAME>
the head is 8v and 16valves heads
and the 16v has freeze plugs in the top ,next to the cam. inside under valve cover !!!.

why not say where the leak is so we can narrow the search. or state the JOB?????????

i have photos of all parts in any G16.
there are no freeze plug in any 8valve head.
but the 16v yes !!!
the 16v head small inside plugs, if leaking turn the engine oil to milk chocolate fast and worse of driven. (just undid worst)

the blocks are the same, both engines, not pistons,
there are no front or rear engine block freeze plugs only side plugs 4 total.
and sure the right side under intake man will be hard to see. look under car right side to see em.
2 left easy to see and 2 right harder.
the right engine block has 2 freeze plugs one in easy view center , under intake man.
and one tucked behind that water manifold that can leak too.
now the last plugs
the 16valve head has a front freeze plug behind the cam cog wheel. and none on the rear of the head.
so 1 front and 3 inside, top.
My guess, G16b has 8 plugs total.
G16a has 4.

things that go POP in the night (cold night)
the rear water outlet fitting (head) does explode every time one runs this head on pure water, frozen, ask my how I know that, and what clueless girl did that,, heheheheheheheheh

I have a 1995 rodeo with a 3.2l sohc motor. I need help setting the timing belt into place. bought vehicle disassembled and replaced both heads with new ones and now am in need of help setting up the...

what do you mean won't line up? is the belt brand new? You should be able to line them up no trouble. mark your sprockets with something when they are at TDC so you know exactly where it is without having to redu this. if you can give me a more detailed description of why the sprockets won't line up that would help. Thanks.

Could you help me with the ford escort 1600 zetec (1995) twin cam cylinder head torque settings please regards tom

Tightening sequence is (imagining the bolts looking down from the front of the car, top left to right being bolts 1,2,3,4,5 and bottom left to right being bolt 6,7,8,9,10 the tightening order is 8,3,9,2,7,4,6,5,10,1 Draw it out on paper to make it become clear. (it will I promise)
The tightening is done in stages, Stage one being to screw all the bolts in finger tight. Stage two is tightening the bolts in sequence to 20-30nm Stage three is tightening the bolts in sequence up to 40-50nm Stage four is tightening the bolts in sequence by 90-120 degrees. ---- Data checked and double checked, thats the official way to do it.

Sorry for the confusion!

If you've removed the 3 bolts holding hub to spindle on the back, and nut holding shaft to hub in center then prying with 2 bars, side to side should do it, but it sounds like your not having much success. Have you tried tapping side to side, top & bottom, to keep it as straight as you can when coming out?
