Question about 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2WD
I have a Chevy Silverado 1500 2007 Classic Crew Cab, 4.8 L engine. I have had it for 3 years although its 2 years old. I try very hard to take good care of the truck by getting the oil changed on schedule, chk on fluids, hoses, etc and tire maintenance. I have almost 47000 miles on the truck. However in mad traffic yesterday it started to overheat for the very first time. Is this normal for a truck this age at this mileage? In addition, the breaks are starting to squeak. Is this normal for a truck this age with this mileage?
Your vehicle should never over heat regardless of age. Your thermostat and radiator cap will however become tired and will need to be replaced. The coolant in your engine should also be replaced as the PH level will rise and this will eat away at your radiator.
As for your brakes squealing, they may need to be replaced. There are little springs on your front brakes that will contact your rotor and these are intended to let you know that you have 10% left.
