Gauges not working, checked fuses and they are fine. new alter. can not find what is wrong.I left my key on and ran down the battery. after jumpering it I noticed that none of the gages, windows, radio, tail lights and some of the lights on the dash did not work. I checked specific fuses and they are ok. Is there a master ckt braker that kills power to these items?

Your solution to my problem is to take it to the dealer?

My wife could tell me that.

Not an acceptable answer for the fee you charge.

  • garyw148 May 28, 2009

I am still facing a problem where, my windows will not work, all the gauges and some of the dash lights do not work and the radio does not work. Also I do not get a chime or ring noise if I do not fasten my seat belt or I leave the key in the ignition.

I checked the window C-Bkr and the fuses to the other items and they are good but they do not have power to either side of the fuse. I talked to the dealer and he is stumped so far. But for $$$ per hour he can start trouble shooting.

It is not a anti-theft item, the vehicle runs fine except for the windows and etc. not working.

Thanks for the reply, any chance you know the identfier location of these relays. There are 7 relays in my diesel excursion and they are numbered 301 through 307. I have switched each one out with one of the others ie 301 and 304 were changed with each other and etc. with no luck. Unless all 7 went bad? There are also 5 more of the same part number relays under the hood and I even switched thes around.

Ginko, thanks for all your efforts. I have solved the problem. As it turns out there is a fuseable link in the engine compartment. It is on the drivers side and mounted to the top of the fender well.

Again thank you for trying and givine me all the info that you did.

The relay for the power windows is located in the instrument panel relay module , under the dash on the drivers side. There is a black plastic with the relays in there.
Checkconnection to relay box as this can also affect the gauges on the instrument panel.

Check also the battery saver relay, as that can cause multiple problems. The battery saver relay should be also located in relay box under the dash.

If you DIY , then get a copy of the repair manual with diagrams and illustrated repair procedure for your vehicle.

See the following if you want to buy the repair manual:

Thanks.

By the way, if you have so many troubles at once, the problem may be the wiring to the relay box , rather than a single relay. That looks more like a job for a good car electrician.

Yes. No need cracking brains here. This is part of the security measures that comes with your car. Same goea for Toyota 4Runner and Benz ML.

Take it to an authorised dealer for refix.

Good luck and be careful next time.

2000 Ford Excursion signal lights and hazard lights do not work?

There is a turn signal/flasher relay that has probably died. They are usually plugged into the cars fuse box. Get a new one from a dealer - they are cheap enough.

None of the gauges work in my 2000 ford excursion and its not cranking would that be a fuse ,relay or what

It's a 10 amp red fuse in the dash behind were your left knee would be, use a Quarter to take the cover off. Replace the fuse located lower right hand corner,4th one from the end. That also stops your chargering system from working and drains your battery. I have the same problem as to were I believe it's something in the nuetral safety switch? haven't replaced it yet, as to were if you find out can you e-mail me so i quit replacing the fuse every time i blow one,Thnxs Mike (bookie597pipe@ymail.com)

Instrument panel went dead

Checked Every fuse in the fuse box (no small task). This includes #4 - Power point Instrument Panel, #14 - Day time running lamps (auto lamps doesn't work nor does auto lock), #27 - ignition switch run feed, #35 - Instrument Cluster, #41 - Instrument Cluster, #42 - Delayed Accessory, #45 - Ignition switch run/start feed, #102 - Door locks body security module, #103 - Ignition switch, #110 - Ignition switch, & #116 - Ignition switch. But I also check all other ones as well, they all register OK. AC panel & radio work. Turn signals work. Mileage does not work, trip computer does. So, basically, everything works except auto head-lights, auto locks, and the dash cluster (no MPH, RPM, mileage display, Fuel, Temp, Tran Temp, and Oil Pressure).

P1132 is front 02 bank 1 and P1152 is front 02 bank 2
This codes indicate a rich condition. I would check for a dirty air filter or a dirty MAF sensor.
