Motor mount replacement at 93000

How to replace motor mounts on a 2003 Kia Optima? Recently we replaced the alternator, alternator belt, serpentine belt! The very next day the car had a squeal and we were told we had to replace the timing belt, tensioner pully and water pump. All within 1 week! Picked up the car and it had a vibration so bad! They couldn't figure out what was wrong. Said I needed to drive it 100 mi to loosen up the new belts. I took it to a new mechanic and now they tell me the motor mounts need replacing! I have 93000 miles! How do I replace the motor mounts on my own? Please help already spent a ton of money! Is it possible the mechanic had something to do with the motor mounts or is it just by chance. Everything all at one time! Thank you!

Your best bet would be to pick up a Chilton manual from autozone. It will give you step by step instructions on how to do all kinds of things with your vehicle, including the motor mounts.

How do I install the alternator on a 2003 KIA Spectra?

I just replaced the alternator on my 2003 Kia Spectra, not an easy job. It has to be removed from under the vehicle. First, after disconnecting the battery, remove the "locking" bolt on the topside of the alternator, along with the adjusting bolt (both metric 12mm). This is done from the topside, (rear, right side of the engine compartment). From under the vehicle, loosen the bolt that holds the alternator. At this point you have to decide whether to loosen the exhaust manifold or motor mount. I choose the motor mount. I loosened the mount and used a floor jack to raise the engine, only needed about an inch. Good luck.

When iput my car in gear i can fell the motor raise up with a thump noise also fan belt makes a winning sound

The Motor raising up issue is, you may have a worn or broken Engine or Transmission Mount, inspect the mounts by having someone or you, look at the mounts while someone else puts the car in gear. If you see the mounts move excessively, than the mounts need to be replaced. The whining or squealing Fan Belt may be a worn, glazed or loose belt. I would inspect the belt and tighten or replace as needed.

Change belts on 2002 kia optima

Not sure what engine you have , but I had an 02 rio with the 1.5 L . The serpentine belt did not have a tensioner (spring loaded) pulley , the belt tightness was adjusted by pivoting the alternator mount.
If you are takling about the Timing belt , the tensioner pulley wont move (even though it is on a spring ) untill you loosen the bolt in the center.

How do t replace the alt. in a 2000 olds silhouette

Remove the two front motor mounts mounted on the frame above the radiator. This is not a weight bearing mount it is for vibration. The engine will not move much once removed. Ratchet the motor forward using a ratcheting strap hooked to the black arm that extends above the motor located on the right side. Remove the serpentine belt. Remove the two mounting bolts on the face of the alternator and the one behind the alternator. Remove the connections and alternator. To reinstall, reverse the process. You will not have enough clearance to remove the alternator without ratcheting the motor forward.

94 saab v6 serp belt replacement. does motor mount

Yes, the motor mount must come off to replace the serpentine belt on the 3.0 6 cylinder motors. Not as daunting a task as it may seem, just requires a jack and block of wood under the oil pan to support the motor.

1990 new yorker alternator replacement

You are right about removing the motor mount. You have to support the engine with a jack. Use a piece of plywood between the jack and the oil pan. Remove the motor mount and you should be able to lift the engine up about 2-3 inches with the jack. Remove the serpentine belt and then you should have enough room to remove the alternator.

Installing serpentine belt on buick lasabre 1995

motor mount does not need to be removed. there is an idler pulley which can be lifted up using a socket and long bar. the belt relaxes and is easily removed and replaced.

How to replace Alternator on 2001 Kia Sephia

You may try removing the engine mount and slightly raising the engine. It will give you much more room to work. I had to replace the timing belt on mine and I resisted this advice for a while. Once I finally did, the job went much quicker. I placed a jack under the oil pan (with a block of wood between jack and oil pan) and then upped the jack until it just made contact. Then I removed the engine mount directly in front of the serpentine belt. You can then slowly jack the engine up to gain more room. I can't remember where the alternator is on the sephia (up high on the motor or down low). If it's low, you could just lower the jack slowly to gain more room.
