I know this is an old post... But the cap is on the reservoir tank... you do not have a cap on the actual radiator.

Not all vehicles have the cap you are talking about. If your vehicle does have a radiator cap, it will be somewhere along the top of the radiator. Would recommend going to a shop where they have the proper tool(s) to do a coolant flush.

### How do you bleed air out of a 2005 ford explorer

Good job of tying the heater to the antifreeze overflow.

This is a guess. Replace the radiator cap and the hose connecting the radiator to the coolant reservoir. Then fill the radiator, engine, and heater hoses completely with antifreeze solution.

When the engine heats up, the coolant expands. Excess coolant is directed to the reservoir. When the engine cools, coolant is supposed to be sucked back into the coolant system. If either the radiator cap or the overflow hose has a tiny leak, air will be sucked in instead of the antifreeze returning

### My honda is over heatin why

CHECK COOLANT.IF COOLANT TOO LOW IT WILL CAUSE OVERHEATING.IF COOLANT LEVEL IS GOOD.YOUR THERMOSTAT IS STICKING CLOSED.IF ALL IS WELL.YOUR RADIATOR IS CLOGGED UP NEED FLUSHING.ENGINE BLOCK WATER PASSAGES IS STOPPED UP.LEAKING HEAD GASKET WILL CAUSE OVERHEATING. USE A SCANNER TO CHECK TO MAKE SURE COOLANT FAN IS WORKING.AND COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR IS WORKING.COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR IS WHAT CAUSES THE COOLANT FAN TO TURN ON AT 190 TO 200 DEGREES.IF COOLANT FAN NOT WORKING.HOT WIRE IT USING JUMPER WIRE TO BATTERY. IF FAN RUNS YOU HAVE A BAD FUSE OR RELAY.IF NOT FAN MOTOR IS FAULTY.REPLACE IT.ALSO CHECK WATER PUMP IF YOU SEE SIGNS OF ANTIFREEZE LEAKING AROUND WATER PUMP.REPLACE IT.ALSO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE 50 % WATER AND 50 % ANTIFREEZE. IN COOLANT SYSTEM TOO MUCH WATER WILL CAUSE ENGINE TO OVER HEAT.ALL OF THOSE THINGS IS POSSIBLE CAUSES THAT WILL CAUSE YOUR CAR TO OVER HEAT.

### I have a 2006 Equinox. the cooling fans will not turn on. I replaced the cooling sensor and the fans worked for a short period then quit. What would be next? I've checked the relays and fuses and all are...

"bad" or dirty antifreeze is still wet and gets just as hot as good antifreeze. That's not your problem. Re-check that the sensor you put in is still good, may be defective. Make sure that the coolant level is full, if coolant does not reach the sensor, that could cause a problem. Otherwise, assuming that your tests are good, check wiring to make sure signal is getting where it needs to go. Could be computer but that is pretty rare.

### I have a 2005 Chevy Equinox, keeps over heating. We changed the thermostat, then the water pump, but it is still running hot. No leaks and no check engine light. Not sure what else the problem can be.

These trucks are bad about developing an air lock in the coolant system. Be sure that there is no air in the system after sealing. This can be done by using the bleeder on the top of the engine near the water jacket. Hope this helps. good luck.

### Overheating 2005 Equinox, after belt replacement.

This could be Caused by a Faulty Tensioner not keeping the Belt Tight enough or even the Thermostat. Check the Belt and see how tight it is First.
