Coolant leak I have been posting my issues. this may sound stupid because of my limited experience with trucks and mechanics in general. I cannot locate the rad cap.  the only place I can see to check or add coolant is in the plastic resivour.  Stupid question but please advise.

If you can locate the small 1/2" diameter hose that comes from that cap, follow the hose up to the front of the engine compartment. Look for the black finned radiator right in front of the cooling fan.
Then look on one side or the other of the radiator toward the top. Should be a chrome cap that say's Caution... on top...
Only remove this when the engine is cool because if it's hot, you'll get hit by hot steam when you loosen the cap.
You will need to push the cap IN to move it past the detents as you turn it...
The coolant level should be a bit shy of the cap.
When reinstalling, make sure to turn it FULLY closed, not just past the detent...

Hope that helps you find it and don't feel like it's a stupid question... no worries... I'm always glad to help stuff like this...

The plastic reservoir is where you add coolant. You can also add it directly into the radiator. only after the truck has completely cooled down if you don't wait tell it cools down you can get severely hurt by steam.

You have a "closed system" add coolant there...same rules as radiator...don't open hot etc.
