Greasing bearings on 2002 Ford Windstar easy ot not

It sounds like the bearings on my 2002 Ford Windstar were rubbing or dry. Took it to Les Schwab and they quoted 235.00 to fix it. Is it something that I can do rather easily or not.

You can't grease your bearing...its a sealed hub. Most are not terribly difficult to replace. I suggest you get a vehicle specific manual such as haynes to guide you through it.

Is this on the front? You will need to replace the hub assembly.

My 2002 Ford Windstar had tires replaced in August. When we got it back there was a wearing/grinding sound coming from the passenger front tire. We dismissed this as a new tire sound since we have not had...

if they are a real tire place they should know if you need brakes . the windstar are known for bad wheel bearing, and here again if they are a true shop they can tell if the whell bearing is bad . by shaking the tire up and down, it will give the same play as a bad ball joint

I have a ford fusion 06 and it sounds like a grinding rubbing sound and squeaking of the breaks coming from the right front tire! kind of like the break is sticking? i took the tire off and everything...

If you took the tire off and there is no evidence of major wear then you might have a steering knuckle bearing that's bad. They can also sound like the grinding and squealing like bad breaks. The steering knuckle is what everything is attached to.The bearing in the center of the steering knuckle for the axle shaft.

I have a 2002 Ford Explorer XLT that has started to make a bad noise when the stairing wheel is turned and when backing up , it feels if the parking brake is on, took it to the dealer they had for a day...

sounds like tire rub issue, as inflating tire solved the issue for a short while possibly that the tires placed on vehicle maybe incorrect size width/height, check tire size, look in wheel well for areas of possible rubbing.

hello, i have a chevrolet dually, the carrier bearing, in mine was doing this, i took it apart, pulled both driveshafts apart then took carrier bearing off, the bearing inside was dry, plus they had a bblue look to them, bearings was bad, plus rubber around the bearing was dry rotted, there is know way of greasing these bearings because they are sealed, i pull bobcats, tractors, with mine if you use it for a lot of heavy pulling, they dont last a long time, chevrolets carrier bearing is all made together, bearing and rubber is made together, on mine, seems like i paid about 35.00 dollars for mine, spray some wd-40 around driveshaft where it goes into bearing, i had to take a hammer to mine to get it off front drive shaft, it was stuck pretty bad.

The most common cause of the noise you describe is the strut bearings in the top of the strut tower. They are a sealed bearing and can,t be greased, one or both should be replaced.
