The car has a new battery, when you try to start, the lights on the dash light up, radio lights and gear light but everything else in the car is dead.
Problem with security locking module located in boot fuse box. a simple check switch ignition on, the check engine light should stay on, it should only go out when engine starts. if it goes out with the other lights check for water ingress or poor connections on the ecm module,located o/s lower A post. a common problem was corroded wiring under the bonnet front o/s. under the washer bottle filleri assume this is a x300 car hope this helps.

Yes the key needs to be reprogramed to the car. Unfortunately that will have to be done by the dealer. Make sure that you have plenty of proof that you are the owner. They will reprogram it but you will not take posession of the car until you prove it is yours.

1994 jaguar xj6, I know of three location that the fuse box exist. 1. just in side the drivers door on the floor inside the front fender where your left foot could rest, 2. the oppsite side passenger side right foot next to the door jam below the door hinge front fender behind the wheel. the 3. is in the center consule where the tapes are stored, is there any other places a fuse box exist on the 1994 jaguar vandenplas xj6 thank
